I'm growing tomatoes this year am my balcony. Problem is that I'm the only one in the house that likes tomatoes. I don't want any to go to waste so I thought I'd try to make wine with the extras.

Anyone ever try this? I mean tomatoes are technically a fruit and some can be very sweet. I think it would work but I'm concerned about their acidity.

Any suggestions would be great!

I've never had green tomato pie but I have had Green Tomato Jam! My grandmother used to make it when I was a kid. It was delicious!

Not sure about wine, but the Homebrewer's Almanac has a couple recipes for tomato beers. There was a tomato saison in there that sounded pretty good. If you can get your hands on a copy of the book, it might be worthwhile.
