Hello, this is my first post here! Also, I have just bottled my first homebrew, an American Pale Ale. After bottling, then looking through the bottles into a light, I noticed some bottles have a tiny amount of bubbles rising from the bottom. Is this something to be concerned about? Or is it just the carbonation in action?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! There is already some gas dissolved in the beer when you bottle it, forcing it into the bottle probably is letting some of it rise to the surface...or, if you waited a few days, it is conceivable that you are seeing CO2 rise to the surface from the yeast eating the priming sugar. Either way, put the bottles in a box or somewhere dark and don't look at them for 3 weeks, you'll feel better just not looking :)

In that case, you should definitely be fine. It doesn't seem like you added enough sugar to cause bottle bombs. As long as the beer was done fermenting, you will definitely be fine. I agree with Kaz, just put them in a cool, dark place, and don't come back for a few weeks.

Thanks a lot guys! I have been a member of various forums, and must say, homebrewers are the most helpful community of people out there!

At the end of fermentation, there is still CO2 trapped / dissolved in your beer. Agitating the beer, or getting it warmer, will cause the CO2 to come out of solution. It's very normal.

You WONT see these kinds of bubbles while the beer is carbonating. In fact, there isn't any visible sign that the carbonation has happened and is done. Just wait 2 weeks (if you can).

Pretty much what totemwolf said above.
