I brewed a batch of beer 30 days ago. It's been in the carboy since and seems to have reached its FG reading. My question is this, I had unexpected surgery last week and will not be able to bottle today. Will an extra week or so in the primary be a problem ??

It's no issue at all. Giving your batch another week, or month (or more) won't hurt it. I don't even blink if a batch has been in primary for 8 weeks, or longer. I brewed a batch on 10/6 that I keep intending to move to serving kegs, but things keep coming up so I've yet to. I need to move it soon since I'm brewing again next weekend.
