Hello all,

I wanted anyone's general opinion if they have fermented before using the metal keg lid instead of the black keg seal with plastic airlock for CO2 release?

I asked because, I started using my PicoBrew Pro again for a stout this winter and forgot that the standard fermentation uses the plastic keg seal, not the metal one with the red screw. In this case, I used the standard grey screw instead. It's been going about two weeks now, with the first few days making enough CO2 that it scared my spouse when it made a loud pressure sound (even after I let some off as I saw the temps go up). I since have let some CO2 out every few days or so.

Any thoughts on how this might affect the brew?

Shall I open and examine (maybe then add the plastic keg seal again but use the plastic adaptor)?

Thanks and Merry Xmas everyone!
