Being a fan of homegrown projects, particularly those involving beer, I was delighted to find THIS while perusing Kickstarter.com this afternoon. Despite being rather vocal about my abhorrence for almost all beer reviews (i.e., BeerAdvocate, Pintley, etc), this fully excludes the man who brought craft brewing to the forefront: Michael Jackson. Not only are the majority of his reviews descriptive in nature, but he approached each review quite humbly, always leaving room for subjective interpretation and experience. His reviews often focused on the historical elements of beer, which is way more interesting than reading 1,001 opinions/arguments as to whether an IPA has a piney or citrusy "nose." It was clear he loved beer for beer's sake and had no intentions of proving his palate's prowess (it was incredible). It is because of this I chose to contribute to this very cool project, and I hope you do to.

If you missed the link above, here it is again: Beer Hunter: The Movie by John Richards — Kickstarter

Cheers!

It's a great venue for fundraising.

Makes you wish you could donate the 10K,doesn't it?! To have your name on the film as associate producer! Now that's cool.

Hey, at least I'll be in the credits AND get a digital copy :)

I'd like to,but Christmas about shot me. And I need to get 2 more batches of beer going. Being retired is easier, but less money.

Very cool, thanks for the link! It's neat that you get a digital copy for donating just $25. I'm all over that ****!

Hey, for those who plan on donating (or already have), be sure to leave a comment stating you were referred by HBT. Let's leave a mark! Cheers,

Marshall

Just pledged $25...c'mon people.....break out the wallets. You can sacrifice one 5 gallon batch cost for this type of investment.

Nearly $1000 pledged in the last 36 hours! Only 19 days to raise another $21k.

WE DID IT!!! and thanks to the 10,000 backer....that pushed us over the top in a hurry!

:rockin:

I'm looking forward to this documentary. This makes 2/2 successful Kickstarter pledges for me, and they're both beer related. :)

I just "kicked" in a donation myself. Hope they can make just that much better.
:)

Amazingly, we've hit the mark... with 15 days left!!! Everything over the $30k just goes to support the filmmaker, which is awesome! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
