Ran across this the other day under a work bench in a box, it was my fathers, he bought it in the early 50s when he did a short stint into homebrewing, mostly bottle bombs. Late at night you could hear them explode in the basement.

It was all rusty & dirty & neglected, had not seen the light of day in a 1/4 century, so with the help of my rotary tool, I removed all the rust, primed and painted this old Climax bottle capper. It now has a prominent place on my brewing supply table, not bad for at least 60 years old.

Might try it out on a few bottles just to see if it still works.

My wife found one of those at a garage sale for $.25. She called me to ask me if I wanted it before she bought it, she did not want to waste the quarter. It works surprisingly well, it is my go to now.

I have four antique cappers and one old corker, none with family ties. Just flea market finds.
Cherish it. USE it. Dad wouldn't have had it any other way.
