To keep this thread off the 2nd page......I know I haven't been drinking NG as long as some of you guys here, but is this the first time he's done a milk stout?

Fairly certain the answer is yes.

Road Slush (Oatmeal Stout)
Coffee Stout
Thumbprint Cherry Stout
Unplugged Imperial Stout

They also list a Celtic Stout on the NG Website, but it is not listed on RB or BA.

Those were the only four I've had and could think of.
Look forward to grabbing some in a couple weeks.

NG Milk Stout is pretty damn good, but it's still just a milk stout.

Will likely buy another 4pk at some point.

I thought it was pretty mediocre. Kind of a disappointing end for a disappointing year from New Glarus.

I thought it was pretty mediocre.

I really thought it was a pretty good milk stout. Unfortunately, it's a pretty mediocre style if you don't amp up the ABV or add coffee or barrel age it or something.

Agree. Hopefully they will step their game back up next year.

I'm not sure that will be case though. I'm sure everyone's noticed the "Employee Owned" that the are putting on everything - bottle labels, merch, etc. I suspect that more owners means that they need more revenue to flow to the bottom line to keep everyone happy.

I agree completely with this. As such a boring style it should have been a sixer ala Coffee Stout or Road Slush - not a Thumbprint.

Hmmm, they don't specify if they're non-transferable. Hope that doesn't promote these new release ticket profiteers from taking advantage.

So I went back to Mars Cheese Castle to find out. It was a Monday morning in November, and I grabbed all 11 types of New Glarus beers on the shelves. As I loaded the bottles onto the checkout counter, I asked the clerk whether he sold much of the stuff.

"It's about 70 percent of our business," he said.

I admit, the figure surprised me.

"Any idea how much of it comes from Illinois?" I asked.

"All of it," he said.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, stay out!

Apple Ale not worth the drive? *******.

As a FIB, I 100% agree. All NG beer is worth the 1 hour drive to Kenosha. Chicago Tribune loves these click-bait articles almost as much as Thrillist / Chicagoist. We should count our lucky stars that NG distribution is so close!

I apologize on behalf of the FIBs.
