So, my question is, is it worth picking up again? I don't like relationship dramas, hope that describes it. I like the zombies. Thanks for your consideration

You probably won't like it any more than you did.

If you just want some cheezy zombie action, you might want to check out Z-Nation on SyFy.

It is a lot of fun. I usually get a chuckle or two out of it and enjoy it quite a bit.

There's definitely drama in it. It's only the first two seasons that have any love-dramas from what I remember, though.

It's a good mix of drama and action. If you didn't like the first season because of the drama, you probably won't like subsequent seasons.

I like this show much more when they are on the road, finding supplies, places to hole up and meeting other survivors, both innocent and despicable.

I know that the actress who plays Tara had a baby not that long ago. She looked kind of pregnant despite the big loose shirts she was wearing in the episode where the wolves attacked.

It's a difficult question to answer without knowing exactly what you are talking about. Inherently the show is about human drama, with zombies as a backdrop and plot device, by the point we're at in the show now, human conflict (as in war/murder) is the main threat and death by zombie is sort of secondary (though people still die via zombie from time to time). I think the bit you're talking about the "Who's the baby daddy?" drama that started towards the end of season 1, where we don't know the father of Lori's kid is, if you can't stand that sort of stuff, I won't lie, season 2 will be brutal for you because it's almost entirely about the conflict between Rick and Shane over Lori and how to run the group, unfortunately you can't really skip Season 2 because they kill off a bunch of people and add a bunch of new ones. Once you're past season 2 though, the show is increasingly better; the focus shifts more to survival drama, such as "should we totally kill these guys, or make peace?" and "is the leader person fit to lead?"

TL;DR: If you're looking for a more actiony or less drama filled zombie show, Ash vs the Evil Dead or Z-Nation may be more to your speed. If you want a zombie survival drama, the Walking Dead is for you.

Just watched the Morgan ep. I enjoyed it. Yes it was a huge letdown to not continue the story at Alexandria. But it was a pulp fiction like cut to a back story which is going to make the chapter we are going to see so much better. A great story is not linear.

It worked out awesome! Took me like five min. to realize I could be really pissed now but it was so well edited and paced and told and directed and acted that it captured me completely and that is what I am looking for always! If I "see" where the crew stands and where the lightning devises are - I know what I am seeing is utterly bad! It takes a lot of solid work to get me involved.

I agree with you completely it was yet another great episode. I have many friends and family who love the show more disliked this episode than liked it but I think they are dead wrong. @passedpawn get on board brother it's one of the best shows ever produced imo. Character and story development are a big part of the show but they have to be because nobody would tune in for more than an episode or two to just watch zombies get thier heads blown off or bashed in. I never get hooked on tv shows, I watch sports, cooking shows and this and I am hooked.

I'm pretty far from 100% sure that Glenn is dead, but the more I think about it the more I could see it being the case. Imagine the next episode like this: Maggie goes off with Aaron to find Glenn, she was gearing up all Rambo style in the promo and Aaron was trying to stop her, in town the Alexandrians are dealing with the fallout of the raid. Maggie has flashbacks while looking for Glenn of their time together that we didn't see in the show, towards the end of the episode you find out Maggie told Glenn she's pregnant right before the meeting where Rick laid out the plan (thus why Glenn was so insistent she not be involved, not just to prop up the glorious leader). Then, gut punch, they find Glenn but he's zombified! Aaron puts down walker Glenn while Maggie is paralyzed with horror/grief. Maggie falls to her knees in grief, cut to aerial view, zombie horde about to hit the walls with Rick just barely ahead of it.

I like it...but Maggie needs to be topless.

Season 2 will probably get on your nerves. Slow pacing, not many zombies, lots of soap-opera drama. If you can bear with it, it gets better.

Call me a drama queen, but I kinda miss the human drama of some of the earliest seasons. The show has kind of devolved into a head-exploding-zombie-kill-fest, which may be accurate for the world they live in, but gets a little monotonous to watch.

There is a lot of character development in the show so inherently there is drama that takes place, some of it believable for their circumstances some of it not. But once you get to know the characters and their back stories you really get to feel like you are part of the show. After that the episodes have meaning and you crave more and more of it, even if it is an episode full of drama and more character building. I say give it another chance. Take it for what it is, a fantasy show about a zombie apocalypse and let it flow. You'll get into it.

I quit watching Dexter for that same reason. I love the premise of the show, but the extraneous drama got to be too much and I quit watching it.

The Walking Dead, on the other hand, has kept me intrigued non-stop.

There were a lot of changes around that time. The first writing team departed/was fired (depending on what you read), then the original executive producer left shortly thereafter.

Haha, that doesn't change much as you go (Dexter, that is). Just wait...the relationship stuff gets weirder. No spoilers.

TWD eases up on the relationship drama after the whole love triangle/"who's the baby daddy?" thing gets resolved. Most of the drama centers around how different people handle tragedy and being thrust into leadership roles, and how the characters' back stories affect them in the present. Carol's character arc is especially entertaining to watch. You'll probably hate her the first few seasons, and then sometime you realize she's one of the most interesting characters on the show.

I haven't watched Dexter, but I would say that by season 3 very little relationship drama is left in the Walking Dead and that by season 4 it's pretty much gone. People still have relationships, mind you, but there's not a lot of love triangles or focus on those relationships. You're made aware that people are sleeping together or married and that adds some emotional tension if they nearly die or die, but the focus is on survival drama.

we really dug Justified, especially Boyd. Walton Goggins deserved awards for that character.

I liked how they would beat you, rob you, even kill you, but dang if they remembered their pleasantries and how-do-you-dos first. their mommas taught them better.

& I'm just the opposite about Deb. as a former sailor, I've already used up my allotment of cusswords; I'm all about coming up with different ways to say the F word. So I like the way Deb comes up with her variations.

So..........Having come across this thread with plenty of free time to post in it for once. If you guys were surrounded by hundreds of walking Zombies trapped in homebrew shop and gun store, which would you prioritize. Stuffing the sacks with ammo or brewing supplies? lol

I wonder if you could kill off a few of them with spent grains and hops? lol
