I dunno, that's what chuck tally said in the basic brewing podcast, hell I don't even quite know what a septic field is :D

I think in that podcast (great podcast btw, been listening/watching a lot of them) he said that it doesn't kill the good bacteria in your septic system.

That's exactly what I use....same stuff as at sam's or most stores...

It works amazingly well...

IA lot of people use the generic no name variety to save bucks...but I tried a couple versions and have been un happy, so it's back to the original brand for me...

Just used Oxyclean to clean a round of bottles - wow. Dropped them in, went on a run, checked my email, messed around online (about 1.5 hours total) and the labels were all floating on top of the buckets! Pretty amazing. I did have to rinse them really well and might give them another rinse tomorrow before I sanitize and bottle in them as there seems to be some paper residue that must have just been floating around and stuck to some of the bottles.

Great suggestion. Thank you!.

Quick question though, When you use it to clean your carboys, do you use a full 5 or 6 gallons of water? or just throw a gallon of it in and slosh it around?

since I started using starsan, it generates bubbles on top of my sample in the thief. I cant see the damn reading clear because theres bubbles covering the hyrdometer.

and yes i have tried spinning the hyrdo as i dropped it in.
