TABC vs Cuvee Coffee is in court this week, so the whole Crowler issue should be answered by weeks' end. Saw lots of brewers posting that they had lended expert testimony today in favor of Crowlers including jeffstuffingsjk.

Let's hope for a positive decision, cause I'm "that guy" that always forgets his growler at home.

Looks like the decision should come on Monday:

Live Oak/Revolver/Peticolas won their lawsuit against the TABC regarding SB639...

TABC has 30 days to appeal, but, needless to say, LO will probably be way more widespread across the state very very soon.
Peticolas possibly going outside of Dallas is the real win here. Consistent beers through the entire lineup and he's especially good at hiding the abv on the heavy hitters like the Hammers/Wintervention. IMO only Pinthouse and Lone Pint do equal/better ipa's, Sit Down and Thrilla are both awesome.

TABC basically didn't bother trying to win this one, they've put all their eggs into the crowler suit. I've been led to believe that DEBC's lawsuit may end up being successful too.

Of course, as much as I (and others) hate DEBC, that's the lawsuit we should really care about the most. Dock sales are way more important than crowlers or a brewery's ability to sell distribution rights.

Which, funny thought: after this lawsuit, which distributor would possibly want to pay Peticolas for their distribution rights? My guess: no one.

You're probably right in that this is the beginning of some bad blood between these two tiers in the Texas system

What do you mean by "dock sale"? I take it as a brewery of any license being allowed to sell their goods directly to the public.

Something change with these newer batches of Dankosaurus? I agree it's a good beer but that's an apples/oranges comparison IMO.
Yeah, I was definately exaggerating. Blame my hatred of the hype train.

Dankosaurus is definitely more West Coast than anything. It's unfiltered, for sure... but it also is missing the protein mix and quaker oatmeal elements from New England IPAs.

Da chowda, if you will.

I've always heard it called cream of Sum Yun Gai

Way to get hung up on the minutiae, guize.

Point: I believe it's underrated and/or underappreciated; it would have appropriate hype if it were brewed by (insert super neat happening brewery).

Yellow Rose now in 500ml bottle 4 packs.

Packaging is just fugly.

OK... well it seems I am coming to Texas for a few nights. I have to be in Irving TX for work from 9/11 - 9/15, will have a rental car but obviously would uber if it involved bars. Any must-hit stores, must-try beers/breweries, must-check out restaurants or bars?

Cheers and thank you in advance!

P.S. Yes, I've already been told it's quite boring as it's not in Dallas proper.

I'm not a Dallas expert by any stretch. Whenever I'm in the area, I like to hit The Common Table and/or Meddlesome Moth. Looks like both are about a 20 min drive from Irving. The best shop I've been to in the area is Lonestar Beverage, which looks to be about 25 min. Collective Brewing Project has been getting tons of love, but that's about a 30 min drive according to Google.

Hopefully a native will chime in to help out.
