LOL. Whoops... rainer

Apparently I need more coffee.

Thanks! Will check it out... gonna hit up Whole Foods Park Lane like boogercrack recommended as the primary target.
Just to clarify something I said earlier, that Whole Foods on Park Lane had a nice tap list and fills crowlers, but I bought the last two bottles of Mole Temptress that were on the shelf from there, so for that beer, look elsewhere like at the main Specs or another Whole Foods, though I suppose it's possible they restocked with more.

Dallas peeps... how crazy is Pecan Lodge on Friday mornings? Is it like... Franklin crazy? Like do I need to leave at 5am tomorrow to get there early? lol.
If you're there by 11-11:30, the rush won't be too bad. Line generally moves quickly.

Didn't know that WF location filled crowlers, cool.

Making the trek to San Antonio for a conference this weekend. I searched the forums but came short. Any recommendations for bottle shops or great BBQ? Was also thinking about heading to Freetail one day and JK

Dallas reviews:

LUCK-**** Yeah
The Common Table-Meh?
Strangeways-Wow

Blood & Honey Ice Cream was the **** rainer ! They also had Temptress, which was also good, but dat B&H ice cream walez tho. Gotta try to replicate that next week.

Work told me to hold off till 9am before re-evaluating if the office will open. So just chilling but a bit early for a beer.
I took off work and good thing because my boss hasn't even been able to get to the office. I'm at home deciding if I want to start drinking Bourbon before 12......yes

In beer-related news... the first Total Wine in Austin apparently opened this past weekend...

http://www.totalwine.com/eng/grand-openings/wine-beer-liquor-store-near-me-austin-tx.cfm

It's literally 1/4 of a mile from Spec's Brodie (IE: the largest Spec's in Austin) right down Brodie Lane in the same plaza as World Market. That's... aggressive. Will need to check it out.

That particular Spec's NEEDS competition. They've got **** service, old product, and is a disorganized MESS. I'm not sure that Total Wine are the guys to do it, but anything helps. But hey, one more place for me to troll during Black Friday for BCBS down south! ;)

I have no idea why I had 0 clue this was a thing that was happening.

I went to Total Wine on it's opening night last week. Beer wise it's ok. They have a fairly large singles section, so a good option if you want to do a mixed 6 pack. Something that I've always been surprised that Specs does not offer. Their refrigerated section is pretty small though, most of the beer is out on the shelves. I read on another forum that they did have some Parabola, but it wasn't out, you had to ask someone to grab one from the back. The employees seemed a lot nicer and more helpful than Specs Brodie, but that isn't a hard accomplishment to pull off.

For beer I wouldn't go to Total Wine over places like Whichcraft, East 1st, Southwest Parkway, etc., but will definitely go there over Specs Brodie. Looks like a great place to get liquor and wine, but I'm no expert when it comes to that, so someone else could speak to their selection there.

Their liquor prices look stellar... take a look at their ad. Angel's Envy for $31.99? Jim Beam White $17.99 for 1.75L (my preferred mixer)? That's ******* great... Spec's doesn't even come close in that dept.

For beer, I'm still a Whole Foods/Central Market guy. Usually Central Market... since my wife refuses to buy any vegetables at an HEB (and refuses to pay WFM prices).

Yeah, I've heard the liquor prices at Total Wine are pretty great.

And your wife is aware HEB owns Central Market...right?

Yes, but she claims there's "fruit flies" at our HEB (Oltof/S Congress).

Also people like to slit girls' throat there, apparently. Oh and Central Market has free gelato samples!

Ha! Yeah, guess I'd choose Central Market over the Oltorf/Congress HEB as well.

They're opening a second, bigger one in the old Toys'R Us at Lakeline Mall as well. Thats a GREAT spot, because other than the new HEB there, there's really no beer competition nearby, and hopefully they can coax Specs Round Rock into getting their **** together as well. Since Scott left, that place has been a complete fuckshow

That's great to hear... Right in my neck of the woods. I really like the Lakeline HEB and Gianluca (the beer guy) is great, but them BA jack holes have been screwing things up lately. Guy came in the other day, told someone from grocery that Gianluca was holding a case of Parabola for him, and walked out with the case...

I'm fine with someone getting a case as long as they're sharing the wealth. Got a case of BCBBW a few months back and only ended up with 1 4-pack for myself, lol.

Don't you know that that's the new hoarding move? I've seen it happen multiple times now. Call the store early, before the beer guy gets in; tell them what you are looking for and that you want to buy the whole case, so they should hold it for you; go in and buy it before the beer guy even knows the beer was in.

I know of at least 3 instances where this has happened, and sadly its worked each time, and always at an HEB. Fuckers will find any loophole to hoard

I like bourbon and coke when I wanna just get freaky. Not gonna mix the 'spensive stuff.

New Amsterdam gin 1.75s are also always stocked. ;)
I was meaning I always heard coke, sprite, etc was the "mixer" - joking that you were drinking Jim & Vodka.
