Thanks for the replies guys. And yes, I'm getting out of the Marines. Excited to move on, get a civilian job and try my hand at college again. Leaving is bitter sweet though, because I've been in a beer paradise here. Breweries out the ears, cool festivals like the Shelton Bros fest back in November...it's been killer.

All my beer buddies are in Austin or SD so if anyone wants to show me some cool DFW areas when I'm back, I'd appreciate it. I'll buy you some beers of even bring back some SD locals if you're interested. Many thanks.

Happy to meet you in Houston or Austin for a beer!.....never DFW though. I avoid that area like the plague:rolleyes:

Lol, a little bit of animosity towards Dallas here...no worries, dudes, not my home anyways. ;)

I was thinking about this as well and can't figure it out.

Haha not animosity, just rivalry with Houston on what is the second best city in Texas since Austin obviously gets first.

Yes I left off San Antonio on purpose.

Bahahah yeah I think the whole Dallas v Hou v SA is the stupidest thing for Texans...now UT v OK...**** the sooners

Austin is the worst. Great to visit, but the traffic is killing me the last couple years. I yearn for dat Houston commute.

I wanna get a job in Dripping Springs near Jester King and visit Austin on occasion, lol.

as someone who drives an hour each way in "houston" and it's only like 30 miles, dafuq? traffic here ******* blows ass. i'll never miss the traffic here.

I live 5 miles from where I work and it takes me 45 mins to get home. Does not compute. Does not compute.

oh, ok.

Psh. 30 miles is a hell of a long distance. Can't complain if that takes an hour. It takes me 20 minutes to commute my one mile between work and home.

Of course, that's when I walk.

Hey guys,
I'll be moving to DFW in August from San Diego, though I'm originally from Austin (more specifically Georgetown for you dudes in the area). I haven't hardly been an active poster on this board at all but I'd like to introduce myself before my move. So hi.
Thanks for your service winorgueuze
Cheers and welcome back!

winorgueuze is good people. We've traded a couple times and participated in some BIF's together that weren't on a beer-centric site

I got the usual Avery email today but it has some faptabulous news. They're going to be releasing 3 year round barrel aged brews

Sour raspberry
Bourbon Coconut porter
Bourbon vanilla bean stout

Dumptruck excite!!!

If it's good, could be game changing. But creating beer at scale usually comes at the cost of the depth and complexity of flavor.
Wish there was another sour on this list.
