Green Flash is doing a decent job at producing the Alpine beers. Nelson is closest at being true to form, then Duet and Hoppy Birthday is the furthest. If you make a trio to San Diego a drive to Alpine should still be in order. There's a noticeable difference in the beers being produced and the OG Alpine are phenomenal.

Agreed on Nelson. Was pretty damn good. No real difference from Alpine version.... I had them within a day of each other. I'm not a big fan of PH in comparison, either version. We liked Hoppy Birthday too, but I haven't tried the Alpine version of that.

When Pure Hop is on point, it's damn amazing. That beer seems to have the most variance even when brewed at Alpine. Damn I kiss that place.

Dunno if there is any truth to this. But one of the bartenders at Flying Saucer Houston told me that they would only be receiving Alpine kegs once every 6 months.

Don't know if that means that other bars will get it in between their shipments, or if there is any truth to it at all.

I wonder how much of productioN capacity Green Flash has dedicated to brewing Alpine. When then agreement first started it was 1 rotating batch a month. 60bbl I think. Then GF aquire Alpine And now they're brewing most of Alpine's main lineup. I do know that when GF opens in VA they'll be brewing Alpine there as well, which should drastically improve availability.

I don't think they'll be brewing Bad Boy IPA or Super IPA (the collaboration with New Belgium) or the other one off infrequent IPAs.

Banger's is doing an Alpine event some time soon. Haven't heard much about how the allocations will be, but when I was still working there we were one of the biggest Texas accounts for Green Flash, so I'd imagine they should have a pretty steady flow of it

they run though yr kegs there faster than water... it's my go to spot to make sure it's right... however, i usually end up drinking a glass there before ordering the growler to make sure.

I got one after seeing buzzword 's when he visited me in Austin last month. Can hold 12 bottles and is STILL under the 50 lb limit? No brainer.

Anyone got any good recommendations for growler fills in the Northwest Austin/Round Rock/Cedar Park area? I've gotten fills at the Growler Room and the Dig Pub, but not a fan of their fills for various reasons...
