Comments and posts are now being deleted, but at one point their driver said something along the lines of

We knew it was yours. We'll get it back to you eventually.

Then a higher up responded to a separate post:

"Unfortunately, my guys in the brewery weren't with us when we were delivering to Hay Merchant and had no idea that it was a retail establishment in Houston"

"Calling us a thief is libel, and just as you are trying to protect your own business, I will also protect mine."

Looks like everything was deleted, but I caught these from Fb before it was all taken down.

Here's the response from John Reardon, from Deep Ellum

The Buffalo Bayou incident is interesting. The owner/operator(?) Rassul has handled everything better than should be expected of him. At the original release at Spec's, he handed out his business card to anyone who was shut out and told them he would guarantee them bottles, and that he appreciated them coming out for his beer.

Then when the reviews came back, he reached out to anyone expressing concern and offered them a full refund/trade for any of their bottles and would hook it up for them on a future release. He even kept his cool when people began posting pictures of them drainpouring the beer on a thread he was actively participating in.

I didn't care for the beer. It was tart, with no BA character, and was a letdown. However, it won't keep me from buying/drinking their beer because I like the way they handle their business, and I enjoy many of their other offerings.

The way he handles his **** makes breweries like Deep Ellum look that much worse.

I posted it on BA. I told a friend. He asked a rep. That was the rep's response. So while not "official", consider that their funny cover story.
Eww I don't wanna go to that icky place, but I'll take your word for it.

Can also vouch that Rassul has a ton of integrity. I ran into him at a beer festival wandering around solo, and the dude refused even something so minor as letting him jump in front of me!

I put those hops in those bags, and that happened a LONG time ago. Dems some OLD hops now, for sure.

Maybe cuz we were also getting hay mixed in with the hops while scraping them off the floor, they just went with it

it'll be interesting to see how much hay flavor carries over since it's a non-fermentable in the mash.
