What's happening fellas! Checking in from the Houston area, signed up here a while back but just got around to reading through this thread. Some folks from another site (not BA) referred TB. Looks like y'all got a good thing going here. I hope to stick around for a bit

Good to have you on board laddie, you will find that the conversation is a bit more pleasant here than in the other site.

Truthfully the only reason I ever went on BA was for ratings and style advice, then one day I poked around the forums and registered so I could argue with somebody about Whiskey Rodeo. Honestly though I have no hard feelings about it over there, there's still a few cool people who don't know about this place yet.

BeerAdvocate is like the Shiner Bock of beer forums.

Fuuuuu...

Screw you Houston guys with your "not spending much". Austin is IPA Heaven right now with ABW Black IPA (probably the best Black IPA I've had... which I said when it came out last year on draft), H&G Greenhouse IPA, fresh Dirt Wolf & Hop Ranch, Uinta Hop Nosh, and Sucks. All fresh.

Oh and FSW 17. Heard/saw Silver Eagle had a little $4000 oopsie in HTX. (28 cases smashed, lol)

BRB, gonna go pick up some more Atrial Rubicite shelf turds.

ABW HM Black IPA is not a black IPA by style according to the box. Either way it's great. I haven't seen new Victory yet :/
I'm happy with the taste/cost/amount value for what I've bought though!

oh.. the spec's clear lake had a fuckton no limit yesterday at like 7.99. shelf and fridge. i assumed if this was the case, it must not have been flying off the shelves. perhaps i just got lucky. i haven't been into a liquor store in a few weeks, trying to wean down the collection.

I liked it better than XVI, and it's better than any of their barrel-aged beers except for PnC, but it's not anything crazy good. Not worth $25 to me.

$25?!?! I think every year it goes up another $2 because X was just above $10!
