Anyone have thoughts on the Big Beer/Barleywine Week Flying Saucer is doing? Saucer ATX released their list and it has only a few BWs. Old Stock is mislabeled as well.
I'd walk over and get a couple if anyone wants to meet up. Otherwise, I'm trying to cut back on beer spending.

Big Brew Houston coming in October. Ticket sales start February 17 I believe...
That is pretty darn early, why is it so far in advance?

Way too early to be selling tickets....

I mean why would I buy if I had no clue on what breweries are coming. I want to be optimistic about this festival, but I find it hard to believe that they will be able to bring in superstar breweries like 3F, RR, CC, etc.

Beer Snob/VIP ticket for $100? Why?

Hey, any of you folks live in Houston? I'm gonna be there the weekend of March 7-9. I don't really want to go to the ******* rodeo, but understand if that's a mandate.

Any beer related events going on that weekend? Anybody want to set up a trade or drink?

PS: I'm ISO all Freetail sours - especially Yo Soy - **** that's a great beer.

I will be staying in the Galleria (I think that's what it's called) area. 7600 block of Highmeadow Drive

If there's a Houston area thread, please direct me to it.

cheers
harry

I've never been to the Houston Rodeo, but the San Antonio Rodeo is always a lot of fun.

Not a place for great beer though, lol

harrymel, there is quite a few of us from the Houston area. Hopefully someone can meet up with you for a trade/drink. I'll be offshore during that time, so I won't be available.

As for the rodeo, I can't remember the last time I went. It's usually a pretty good time, but only BMC to drink. I don't care much for country music either, give me rock and metal.

I live really close to where Rodeo is hosted and work by the galleria area, so hit me up if you need anything harrymel I'm sure we can work something out or at least have a beer.

Cheers.

According to Freetail webpage, Pechecus is no longer on tap (IIRC it was a week or two ago).
Soleratail awa is 'coming soon'; cool name.

Can someone let me know what the price of the four current FT bottles are? I couldn't find it on google, etc.

P.S. Here's a review on Freetail from yelp, it made me lol.
"If you love Gordon Biersch, you'll like this place. Same overall premise. On sight micro brew and food. I'll admit the quality of food isn't the same at GB, but it's not bad. Beer is fantastic though and honestly worth the trip in itself.

The pizza is made in a brick fire oven, but the crust isn't what I'm use to as far as texture. I'm more use to a California Pizza Kitchen type dough/crust when dealing with a brick oven.

Staff is very friendly and prompt. Growler prices are fair as well. I'd like to return here.

Alextricity????????????

Nothing has really come out recently that I want to throw my money at...

My wallet is doing pretty damn well right now.
Hops & Grain Greenhouse IPA (Jan 2014) and ABW HM Black IPA 2014 came out in Austin, but those bastards charged less than $10 per pack; it's like they don't want to defile our wallets.
