Well that explains why the sample I had at 12:30 was NOT good. Was wondering why it didnt taste like strawberry at all. Damn. Well, tell Jeff I'll be by to pick up my apology bottle later.

That's because it was a different fruit. But I don't know if it'll be released or not, so I'll just keep that info on the low low.

Honestly, I think it lasted so long based on the fact people didn't like their first pour (of incorrect beer). I'm glad I got a second taste because it really was a nice beer!

That was the first beer I tried after I checked in, and I was disappointed. By the time I got my bottles I used my last few tickets on Aurelian.

Was it kiwi? My OP at ~2 PM was strawberry kiwi like. Err, it was like a very young green strawberry that didn't fit in a sour ale. Didn't care for it then, but wanted to try again.
I hope it last a couple more weeks.

I'm opening my Rare on Friday with a friend, I can give you an opinion on the taste. The hype, rarity, I'll leave up to the masses. I would do the trade since anyone close to JK should have a chance to try the sours again.

Had BCBCS on tap (twice) tonight at Hopfields in ATX. Goose Island is here, baby.

Met Brett Porter. Told him this was the first time I had his beer and it didn't come in the mail. He LOLed.

Coffee on tap was awesome. 2 glasses was plenty. I missed out on Cherry Rye but I hung out and handled a good 6oz of Rare.

After having Rare, I'd say the recipient of the JK beer would win that trade. I don't get why it's so coveted. Maybe it's past it's prime? It definitely trades too high IMO.

I've had all the JK sours and have an extra set. I'd like to turn it into a Rare if I could.

I've had a lot of different beers and this one keeps being just out of reach... lol

I agree. First time I had Rare, while it was good, I couldnt figure out why people would trade their whole cellar for it.

But that's why my response to the question was couched in "If you've never had it before, do it." Its worth trying, and those JK beers will be available again, so why not take the shot at it now.

Seriously, just slice open a Vanilla bean, float it in regular BCBS and you get the same damn thing as BC Vanilla. Even better because the vanilla in the bottles has faded. Works equally as well with coffee.

No need to trade away a to of stuff to get BCBVS unless you are collecting the bottles.

Yeah I understand. I'll probably trade for one just to host a tasting. It wouldn't hurt to have it again. I'm shooting for Vanilla first.
