Where? I’ve been looking over town for this and haven’t been able to find a bottle.
Lakeline HEB. Word must have gotten out though... they were gone when I swung by yesterday. According to my twitter the Spicewood H-E-B got it in 2 days ago as well. No idea on current availability though.

Family Business Beer Co is getting a 2nd location in South Austin (just south of 71 off of Congress Ave).

I'd venture to guess this is going to become their tasting room and the place out in the boonies in Driftwood will become more of their "production" brewery. Right now they don't send any beer off-premises through distro so I IMAGINE they're doing well unless they really suck at business (pun). Their beer is solid (Nate is a sold brewer)... I just get extremely annoyed with a lot of their business practices and relatively high price for a taproom (I wanna say the beers were $7.75 last time I was in there?)

About 10 bottles left at the Anderson Mill/620 H-E-B...

Wow if memory serves, my guess was WAY off.
It's actually not a horrible price.... it's better $ for $ than the Real Ale BA bottles since they're 750ml vs. 500ml.

Hopefully I can get over to 620 and Anderson Mill before they get gone. Prolly won't be able to get over there till Friday/Saturday (that's literally a billion miles from my work (downtown) and home (the edge of Northeast Austin)

I may swing by there tom/Friday. I’m less than a mile from the store. I’ll let you know if they’re still around or I can stash a few.

Just put them behind some BCBS bottles. If it's anything like my HEB they'll have enough to build a small fortress and there's no chance of anyone touching them, lol.

Over the weekend I went to the Baa Baa Brewing private event for the donors to their 7BBL FV.

Marcus is really building the place up from a nano to a 'real' brewery while running it as a part time gig. AKA slow organic growth. But they have a 7BBL brewhouse installed and he's contract brewing to keep the place turning bucks. The tasting room will be finished and they'll be back open to the public in Feb. Just thought they needed a shout out since they've been silent for over 6 months while dealing with permitting issues with the city.

Also way out in Brookshire for the spirits fans, Shire Distilling has their new equipment in and getting ready for their first 'real' run. Beautiful equipment with a whole mash/fermenter system with an automated agitator in both FV. They are the first to have such equipment in the Houston area. It will be very interesting to see their progress.

I would say they are worth a stop if heading all the way out to Brookshire to visit Baa Baa. Both have limited tasting hours.

Uh.

Doesn't Scott...

... own Freetail?

Did they sell out or something when I wasn't paying attention?

The "I'm sad to not be working with them anymore" and the "I'm looking forward to my next adventure, whatever and wherever it may be" makes it seem like this wasn't planned or solely his decision. Did he only have partial ownership at this point and got forced out for some reason? (I have no idea, I'm just thinking out loud. Definitely strange though.)

Heading down from Dallas to spend Thanksgiving with the in-laws in Boerne. I normally just hit out Weathered Souls and stock up on Hefe/Pils to drink while there. However I would love to track down some BCBS (and maybe variants) this year. Where should I look in SA/Boerne (unlikely I know)?

HEBs will have some bottles, although variants normally go to the bigger stores. Maybe someone in SA can direct better but I would suggest for something somewhat close to you go to Gabriel's.

When we go to SA/South Texas for Thanksgiving I've had really good luck with the HEB Plus! at Bandera Rd/1604, which is a gigantic new-ish HEB Plus store. They've had it on Black Friday/Saturday when I've been heading back up to Austin.

If you're going through Austin on the way home HEB at Mueller as well as the UT HEB at 41st Street/Red River normally have a ******* wall built out of BCBS on Black Friday. Variants are scooped up super quick in Austin however.

One of you Texas dudes sent me a can last year and I'm trying to remember the brewery and which beer it was. The can had a lady holding an umbrella maybe? It was a sour beer of some sort with tropicalish fruit in it and maybe some salt?

Sound familiar at all?

Yup, that's it. You guys nailed it.

I can't remember if it was ExPimp , thatguy2014 , boogercrack or someone else that sent it like a year ago. So delicious.

Do you guys know when that one will come out again? Is it difficult to acquire or very limited?

I recall seeing the passionfruit version hanging around my local Kroger in Fort Worth for months. It's probably still there. I don't recall seeing many of the other fruit variants hanging around. I'm sure if you connected with the DFW or Texas group on Facebook you could find somebody to send you as much as you want.
