You should know better. I live 5 mins away and never go there. Went once and paid $12 for a 10 oz snifter of BCBS. Should've asked beforehand but oh well. D- bags drink there and they don't know beer. You live in Katy?

Family lives out here and the wife and I relocated here. House hunting now so not sure where we'll buy, but on the west side We think. Still exploring the area, both for homes and beer.

Selling my Frigidaire Chest Freezer w/ temp controller if anyone is interested. $200 for the whole setup including a Johnson analog temp controller and Eva Dry dehumidifier (to control moisture). If you buy it, I'll throw in "The Keene" story free of charge. ;)

****** pic, but this is it. It has a few more beer stickers. They can be easily removed. This is the Frigidaire 9.05 cubic foot model seen here. http://www.lowes.com/pd_637394-2251...ty_sales_dollar|1&page=1&facetInfo=Frigidaire

If storing bottles upright, I've fit upwards of 100 bottles. If storing sideways, I've fit 65-70 bottles of lambic+a Jester King case of beer+ there's an elevated hump inside that I fit about 15-20 more bottles upright.

Comes with the beer right?

What part of town do y'all work in? I live in Westchase and love the easy access to get into town via i10 or westpark tollway. I work in midtown and the morning commute is great, the afternoon commute makes me want to kill myself.

Basically anything along i10 west of sawyer/taylor is going to appreciate for at least the next 5-10 years and have quick access to Katy.

Think a 6.5 gallon carboy with airlock can fit in there? (Or two?)
You can fit 2+ plenty of space for other things/bottles.

I THINK you can fit a 5 gallon bucket with an airlock on the compressor hump to the left as well. Don't quote me on that though.

Also fun side fact: I am currently "cellaring" fresh basil because it said to keep it at 50-55F and do not refrigerate at lower temps. :D

Just found out I'm heading to Dallas tomorrow evening for work. Little TBD right now but may have Tues/Wed night free. I was hoping for some advice on Bar/brewery(ies) to visit. Any Dallas ppl have some advice on a good bar/brewery spot to hit up?

Currently living in katy and working g near 290/610. Morning commute isn't bad. Evening is the 8th layer of hell, but I fixed that, I just go to the gym and workout. Not bad when I leave.

The Common Table
Meddlesome Moth

Disclaimer: I'm not a Dallas person.

Don't know yet, waiting on confirmation. I assume Uber/Lyft is in Dallas right? So I should be able to get to most areas.

Yeah, uber/lyft is available easily. I would say if you are downtown/uptown area, Common Table, Meddlesome Moth, Luck, and Strangeways are all great spots you will find great locals and non-locals.

If you want to take stuff home I would say run up to Taps and caps and get some crowler fills, you can also hit the lonestar bottleshop for a great selection.

Glad I don't have to deal with traffic as I teach 7 miles from home.

I wish I could be more help but I hardly get out of my area and go into Dallas. Depending on where you are staying and your transportation situation makes a big difference. If you are staying in downtown, the usual bars are Common Table and The Meddlesome Moth and both are within a mile or two from downtown and both have decent food. Meddlesome is more on the upscale side.

Slightly outside of downtown there is Craft and Growler and Strangeways.

Deep Ellum, Community and I believe Peticolas are all breweries and are relatively close but I'm not sure about their hours. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Edit: Well ****, somehow I missed everyone else's posts so I pretty much regurgitated everything that's already been said.
