I honestly don't care that much. JK isn't that far of a drive for my fix. Good for them getting their sours out of state. They'll be able to increase production soon enough.

That sucks for us Houstonians that JK sours are being distributed to other states instead of the city of Houston. Glad to see others get to enjoy their great beers though. And like nablock said hopefully they will be able to increase production soon. Guess I need to make a drive back to Austin in the near future.

I agree it is a tough situation but look at Prairie as a duplicate example. OK has a fantastic brewerry in their backyard and once they start expanding to other states, the locals get upset because they claim there is not enough production to fill the local demand. However us in TX that just saw a fantastic drop of Bomb! will never raise a negative word about the situation. Individually it sucks but it is good to see the breweries taking advantage of a devouring market, guarantee all the JK (including Noble King) will be gobbled off the shelves quickly in CO as it is the 'new' thing in that market. Same thing would happen if CS sent some St. Bretta to TX, a CO shelf beer would be gobbled immediately. Breweries will continue to take advantage (in a good way) of this ridiculous market for beer.

All joking/trolling aside, I'm curious if Jester King is making a permanent entry into the Colorado market...or is it a Jeff <3's Chad so we get some Jester King relationship.

I want to see reciprocation!

And Houston people can only complain a little, as mattchow is a generous #goandpickitupformebro who seems to be in Austin every other week.

It's crap when a brewery says they release at the brewery because they don't have enough to effectively distribute and then distribute to other states.

It's a spit in the eye...

Fair point.
I would think the JK team has a reason for doing this. Perhaps someone in the know can chime in.

Also, I'm surprised no one wants free beer...

Also, this was recently posted on another site by Jeff of Jester King. It explains why other states received their sours and certain Texas locations didn't

"The backstory on that is there was an interruption in service from our distributor as a result of us changing our license to a brewpub. We were required by law to get a contract on file with TABC. Hashing out the contract with our distributor took time. As we've mentioned before, our space is very limited and we need to get beer out of the brewery when it's ready. Otherwise, we'd have to shut down production. This resulted in out of state shipments of our beer during the period of interruption in service from our distributor. Small quantities of some of our limited beers were included on these shipments. We'd rather have sold this beer in Texas, but when faced with the choice of complying with TABC code or temporarily shutting down production, we chose complying with the code.
- Jeff"

Oh wow, I had no idea it was that low. I guess Scott may have mentioned it in the "I want your feedback" thread on BA.
