Mikkeller charging Viking Club members $113/each for their "Viking Fest" (club party) this month, should I be as outraged as I am???

Last year, the same event was $52 (which was already pretty high IMO).

I noped out on the anniversary. I also bailed on the membership. They had a couple releases this past year that were good but most couldn't keep me. Also, the cans have always had an off taste for me. Which made me always want crowlers/growlers of the beer. Xul food and unlimited beer. I am not sure how the food is set up though.

How many Growlers can you get for $113?

Hahaha. I wish that's how it worked. But to be honest maybe 5 growlers. But I don't think unlimited was including to go. Otherwise gose/Berliner party at my house. They nailed a couple fruited gose in the past few months.

Vote with your dollar & stop forking over for these crappy cash grabs. Let the bubble burst.
Too many idiots for that, unfortunately. Take an example of Moksa and their $22+tax 500ml of non barrel aged imperial pastry stout and all the people saying it's worth that price.

Yeah, I'm out on the membership this year. IMO they under-delivered on what was promised last year, had severe communication issues along the way (though in fairness, the new member program manager has turned that aspect around), the member included beers have been 'meh' for the most part, and the absolute best stuff was typically the same low limits for members and public alike. Member events that sell out instantly and are expensive... drastic price increase this year... and a final kick in the nuts was that the 2017-18 member year ended April 1. Problem with that is 2017-18 began May 1. So, they chopped off a month, which coincidentally (or not) is the month that arguably their most anticipated beer of last year (BA Traeblod) is being released. **** that.

Damn, I knew it! I even sent a message to Rachel asking as such.

Just not a good look among the other price increases. Lots of promises for next year won't take effect immediately next member year, either. She mentioned the locker build out (perks for tiers two and three) won't happen until registration closes... which she said would probably be some time in June. Guess I just soured on "promises" from these programs. Establish yourself, prove the value is there, and then I'll consider.

And they don't seem to be committing to web shop pick ups in house, either. Someone asked in the member group if it would resume after March and it was a very vague response about still having "discussions" about it (or something along those lines... can't see it since I'm not longer a member. They are somehow the only brewery in town that can't handle it, and many much smaller breweries have no issues holding orders.

This probably all sounds very whiny. Not intending for it to be that way, but maybe it's just me finally seeing the light with regards to many of these programs being a pure cash grab. Kudos to handful of member programs that really seem to do it right.

I emailed them asking about webshop pickups and they indeed said they would not do it. They did however mention I could upgrade to the higher tiers so that I could place beer in the locker. Didn't mention that locker wouldn't be available until at least June though. So glad I decided not to sign up.
