Well, I've been to all of those places before, I used to be down in Carlsbad somewhat frequently due to my in-laws living there. I'm leaving today, would be doing the SD stuff tomorrow, going to hit up Monkish on Saturday before the wedding. I wanted to squeeze in something else in LA but I don't think we really have time.

Smog City is less than 100 yards from Monkish and worth a visit. Smog City Steelcraft and Beachwood Long Beach are good choices if you have a family and want to have dinner while on the way from SD to Monkish.

I would bet it's the 2nd-11th
Thanks, that was my guess to.
Me and the guys are seriously thinking about coming this year. Flights from Sweden are about $300 and you can AirBnB a whole house in North Park for a week for like $1000 (which isn’t much split three or four ways).

I've never been impressed with the Smog City that makes it up here, have they stepped up their game in the past few years?

And we have a wedding at 5 on Saturday in Malibu, so we're constrained to basically one stop in LA. I think Monkish is the highest ROI (although I was considering Bottle Logic until I heard it's clusterfuck week there and I should avoid it if I couldn't spend all day there).

Have you had Infinite Wishes? If no, go there after monkish and thank me later. You can get a quick taster then get some bottles to go. Its a fantastic barrel aged stout, pastry free.

I have always been a big fan and enjoy their stuff that gets distro so maybe it's just different tastes. I love Infinite Wishes and their coffee Porter (BA was ridiculous).

Highland Park just opened their Chinatown location - I'd almost say that's worth a stop more than Monkish, but I also fanboy HPB a lot more.

...****, I have a free weekend too - I'm considering heading to HPB.

People that have a 4 day work week so there's less people during rush hour on Fridays? The wife does the 9/80 schedule and I know a few people that do 4 10 hour days, I want that schedule.
I do 4 days. This schedule definitely *****. 3 day weekends every week and you can get business hour **** done on Fridays.

I also think there are a lot of folks on Fridays who end at 3 instead of the normal 4 or 5, so traffic is more evenly dispersed through the afternoon.

I'm doing 4 10s and traffic definitely starts early on Friday. Seems like a lot of people doing half days as traffic can be bad as early as 2pm.

At least it's good barleywine weather today.

It’s good Barleywine weather every day!!! #BiL
