One more SD question for all you locals: best/favorite places for fish tacos?
Hit up hamilton’s, then go to the mariscos truck next to the South Park target. No idea what the real name is, but google Captain Kirk’s Coffee, show up between 10am-5pm and get some tacos from the truck across the parking lot.

Is Abnormal still worth a visit now that their celebrity brewer is gone? I've never been and the mrs has agreed to be DD to a place that's further afield from our Central SD home than we usually go.

How about Burning Beard? We were there once, over a year ago, and liked it but I haven't had anything from them in ages.

Lost Abbey in Cardiff? Haven't been there either.

I still enjoy the beers at Abnormal. Have been twice since the Brewer left. Food is still great.

Lost Abbey in Cardiff is small. Also, you can bring in Cardiff crack while you enjoy a beer. So both places are great for food and a beer.

.

Same thoughts as souredstouts on Abnormal and Lost Abbey in Cardiff (just don't let your wife catch you lookin' hehehe)

I like BurningBeard. The music, the vibe, the beers, the staff are all inviting. They are trying new things like barrel-aging some beers, but obviously that takes some time. Food there is iffy, I think I have only seen a food truck once when it wasn't an event....so you might need to stop and bring your own.

I see so much talk on Burning Beard, I need to revisit. Went once close to when they opened and found it to be just OK. Obviously a lot can change in a short amount of time, and I live pretty much right up Fletcher Parkway. No excuse for not going more often. Definitely recommend bringing food though, as it's not a particularly high traffic area in general. Hence, not ideal for food trucks.

Kiko's if you're down for a food truck,
This is the right answer, especially if you're in North Park and don't want to drive a long distance for fish tacos. It's a truck that's always in the liquor store parking lot off Texas and Meade, and it is oh so incredibly good for a bomb price.

Oh and I would also like to mention I haven't had a beer in nearly a week thanks to this stupid cold I can't shake. I did have copious amounts of whiskey on Christmas to help me power through family stuff, but I think it added a few days to my recovery.

Random post: We're in the middle of cleaning out our storage unit this week to prep for moveout this weekend, and I came across a bunch of rando stuff I bought at SDCC 2008 for some friends who ended up flaking out on me. Is anyone interested in the following - or know anyone who would be interested in it?

-SDCC 2008 Dwight Shrute Bobblehead (2x)
-SDCC 2008 DC Direct Batman
-SDCC 2008 DC Direct Joker (2x)
-SDCC 2008 Gears of War Anthony Carmine

I would love to sell this stuff - especially the Jokers and the Carmine, the latter of which is going for a pretty penny - but I don't want to have to resort to scumbag eBay for that BS. I've used Craigslist with no luck at all. If anyone wants any of these, or knows the best way to offload these to some nerds (Tyrsis and sdreaper, looking at you), please let me know.

Hey now...hey....just because I have shelves built to hold all of my figurines and not pictures of family and friends doesn't mean I am that much of a nerd.

But no, I am personally good. Thanks.

SO IMAGINE HOW SALTY THAT WOULD MAKE YOU
