Hopefully new money won't know the lowkey greatness that is BA 2010 Decadence
Fantastic beer but the last time I opened one (stored at 55* since purchase), it was fading. There's likely some bottle to bottle variation but 2014 BA Olde Ale is god tier and probably a safer bet at this point.

Oh man, that accidental "we forgot about the barrel we had" 2 year aged olde ale....mmmmmm

BA Old(e) Ale > * for AleSmith. Which is saying a lot compared to how good BA Wee Heavy and BA Speedway Stout are. And BA Numbskull is no slouch.
I mean honestly, if you go to AleSmith tomorrow and you know you're going to get a bottle, you're guaranteed to not be disappointed. Even the least popular bottle on that list is a world class beer.

And if you get assed out of a bottle you have to "settle" for what is on draft, and those dueling casks....oh man.

Correct, it is take away. They still won't allow the opening of bottles, not even their own, on-site.

I think the confusion comes from their meaning that you can only buy the bottles on-site, not online. But they are for take away.

It's entirely legal for them to open their own bottles which is weird. There have been plenty of bottles of homebrew popped open in the back for homebrew comps (which is now entirely legal).

What do we think the ****-show quotient is relative to when they were going to release DBSS? I don't stand in lines anymore but god damn it would be nice to get one of those bottles

Very true, we have had multiple bottles opened for us in small little events there. I think it is that they don't want to advertise that it is legal for them to do so in case of ppl bringing in multiple bottles, or sitting outside with multiple Alesmith bottles and getting blitzed since it is still on Alesmith if someone gets drunk and disorderly on their property.

Edit: Especially lately they seem to be running kind of a skeleton crew during the week. So three ppl to handle everyone at the bar, inside A&S, clean up, merch counter, and monitor would be a little tough.

Honestly have no clue. Hard to judge new money these days.

My prediction is that after the DBSS postponement, all of them are going to head to Mikkeller instead for their triple can release, but who knows anymore.

I honestly have no idea. I am just proxy for the member out in AZ. The early purchases make it super easy for me to casually go over and get the cans. Works out pretty well too. He lets me know, typically in advance but this time only 1 day, PPd me cash, then I cruise on over and buy them after work.

I like that I can purchase any extras up to the member limit though. Allows me to grab cans for myself and other friends.
Wait, so if you are the proxy you can buy stuff during member sales at the brewery?

Yes. I have to sign that I purchased for him for this sale but otherwise the only limits imposed upon me are the predetermined 4pk limits. If he buys 1 4pk and the limit is 3, I can go ahead and buy up to the 3 limit and then distribute the wealth amongst friends that don't really want to wait in line.

I get no other perks though, so if there is a discount, I don't get it, obviously his merch I don't get and can't buy extras of, and other usual stuff.

What he was able to do, and I wish the Bruery would allow it, is that he could transfer his anniversary party tickets to me and a friend without him needing to be present.

Edit: Each release I get hit up by friends asking and hoping that my guy won't max out. It is kinda funny. Especially for releases like this one. Went to sale on members on Thursday, not released to public until Saturday morning. Plus with all the **** going on saturday it lessens the need to deal with 2-3 shitshows and only have to focus on one. =P

**** that's awesome. I am a proxy for someone but didn't realize I could buy for him. May have to head over after A&S...

Yep, said you can't buy under proxy....DO YOU KNOW PEOPLE!!!!!

I mean, I know 2 of the beertenders since they came over from Alesmith, but I haven't had an issue all year purchasing ahead of time. I am also not the only one that purchases as proxy.

Hmmm Sideswipe , were there any hoops you had to jump through to allow me to purchase cans in your name?

Nope. Just listed you as proxy when I signed up. You only had the one shot to list a name and it couldn't be changed once submitted. I believe it was stated that proxies could purchase/ pick up any release, can or bottle. Not sure if I still have the welcome email.

Only 2 of the 3 options were on yesterday.

Chit here, mikkeller/pure project. Exceeded my expectations. Smooth, heavy grapefruit on the nose and flavor. Soft mouthfeel.

Hazy Fuentes, mikkeller/pizza port. Disturbingly crushable for a tipa. I think mostly galaxy hops in this one. I would describe it as kook with an added kick.

Both of these ended up being available in cans to which was previously stated that Fuentes would be canned this morning, so pleasantly surprised as that allowed me to get a couple 4pks for friends so they don't need to stand in line.

I did not know it was a triple until someone told me, after, I very easily drank the whole thing.

Thankfully they were only serving it in 12oz glasses.

How about that vanilla knee quiver though? I saw it on the Stone anniversary list and figured it was a denmark mikkeller beer and kinda wrote it off in my head. Saw it was on draft, and apparently been on draft for a bit.

Forgot the name ( wife brought home crowlers), but the new hazebro at Burning Beard was gewd.
