Our "area" is huge as ****...so narrowing it down to what part of town you are in will help tons. Also...access to vehicle?

As for location of packaged craft...regardless of where you are going to end up, you should probably go visit kingg at Bine and Vine.
I'm going to be on Shelter Island, and I will have access to a vehicle.

Some of my favorite places near you are:

Fathom - You will be so close, I highly recommend going here and relaxing for lunch and a beer right on the pier.
Liberty Station (lots of restaurants and bars and shops); Bottle Craft (bottle shop and bar), Stone Liberty Station, Soda & Swine (good mixed drinks), & Slater's 50/50 to name a few.
Pizza Port Ocean Beach - my favorite place
Newport Pizza - awesome old school craft beer joint. Lots of fun and headaches when closing this place down.
Modern Times - Probably San Diego's hottest brewery right now. They seem to be doing everything right. Amazing beer...and higher prices to go with it.
Bay City - Really close to Modern Times, solid beers, not as hyped, definitely worth stopping in if going to MT

Food:
Point Loma Seafood or Mitch's - both have great fish and are located right next to each other. The line and wait at PLSF can take a while, Mitch's is more relaxed.
Ortiz's - Best California Burrito in town
Liberty Public Market - within Liberty Station, lots of food options, you can grab food and eat at Bottle Craft, even in the outside area.
Rocky's - This is a little further north, but I love this place. Simple menu (Burgers and fries), old school bar (21 & up, cash only)

Back from a great trip of getting lost in the central coast hills and enjoying good beer. Man the dontdrinkbeer house was kinda stupid awesome.

I ticked so many lagers it was off the chain. None of them touched Heiress, Eppig's, or the like with the exception to Timbo and HPB's new unfiltered America's Preference. We are spoiled.

I'm giving Nelson the proper respect in death that it deserves. So don't bother waiting for my 2cents. If it gets you there, then that's fine.

Keep fussing about the past, I'm gonna enjoy what's in front of me. :D

Who are you saying is best?

Random question, but I had an offer for someone to grab me beer from San Diego. Does San Diego get the good Alpine beers brewed at Alpine? Or do they get the mass produced green flash stuff like the rest of the country gets? If it's the latter anyone have some recommendations on good local readily available hoppy beers in the area? Been a few years since I've been in SD so don't know many of the newer breweries around.

Burning Beard, Eppiq, whatever Modern Times is releasing that month, and I hear Burgeon has been doing great things, also Mikkeller.

I guess I will say Pure Project as well since they managed to trick everyone into thinking their beer is the best. While I think Winslow is a great brewer....the hazy IPAs he has been cranking out leave a lot to be desired.

Societe.

#talkcaliburrito: my definition of a Cali burrito is simple. Carne, cheese, fries, sour cream. Any other ingredients, other than guac if you are feelin fancy, are not allowed.

My go-to Cali Burrito is from Lolita's. Yesterday I combo'ed that with a crowler of the Eppig Special Lager and a nap immediately after and it was a mighty fine day recuperating from the SD Rock N Roll Half. I have a crowler of the Zwickel waiting for me tonight, which i think is even better than the Special Lager.

Basically, I echo the sentiment to get to Eppig. Their crowlers are going to be in heavy rotation at my house once summer hits.

Grabbed tickets for session 2, looking forward to the fruited Transit of Venus and more of the Jester King collab. I think Ice is the July canned seasonal, perfect timing for anniversary shotguns.

The sassiness of Alpine Nicole has reached new levels at Mikkeller...

I'm gonna have to either start wearing a disguise or bring in some muscle. =P
Okay, so that IS Nicole working at Mikkeller. I was confused last I was there, and didn't want to be racist by mistaking all white girls in beer to look the same.

I've officially hit Zerofux mode about IPAs now that I can just walk to Vons for my Swamis cans!
