Edwards' RPX screenings are usually worth it if it's a "big, loud movie". I am a HT nerd too ( Paradigm Prestige speakers, SVS subs, 105" projected etc ) but certain movies demand the real big screen.
agreed, IMAX 3D ftw at Edwards.... the luxury theatres (Cinepolis, Arclight, Loft) are also a good option for getting out of the house to relax away from kids (although the food and alcohol is usually insanely expensive). still need to see GOTG2....

I have to recommend The Lot. Assigned seating, full bar and food menu, very comfortable seats. If you want to be cheap, Hazard Center has comfy chairs and has $5 beers on Sunday...

Wife and I go to Hazard Center 90% of the time and The Lot the rest of the time. Most movies are just fun to go check out at the theaters, so Hazard works well. Plus with the big cozy chairs there are less people, and you can only sit 4-6 people across depending on the screen room, so large families or groups that are noisy aren't a problem.

The only time I'd say don't go to Hazard is for super popular, new movies. We saw GOTG2 there on Sunday and we had to line up an hour early. **** all that ****. Assigned seating is the bessssssst

Hazard Center also has a Baby's Night Out thing, kid friendly showings of movies parents want to watch.

Tonight's is GOTG; we're totally going. It might be a pain in the ass, but it's also only $7, so no real sweat.

I would rather punch myself in the cock repeatedly than go to that. But you're a dad and I'm not, so... have fun!

it's not the end time, but the beginning time. I usually get home right at 7, which is when it starts...
Fair point, although we haven't had any problems showing up late before. Fingers crossed, I may be able to make it on time, so if you want to show up whenever, we'll take knowledge reinforcements whenever. Plus they put your breakfast sandwich back on the menu...

Kids 2 & under are free at Hazard. Early showings at Hazard on a Sat/Sun, mostly animated films, have been great for our whole family to see a movie together. Love Hazard! We used to do Parent's Night out during the week, but I'm too much of a crochety old man to see theater movies that late. I like morning showings.

By the way, back to #TalkMovies, It Follows is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. I've grown tired of murder porn movies like Saw, where its too much gore. Still traumatized by the ankle cutting scene in Hostel. *puke*

We saw GOTG2 on Friday...at noon. We typically go to early showings like the old souls that we are.

Yeah, we actually ended up not going tonight because we were both exhausted, and once we thought about it, we'd rather just wait for a first weekend showing.

And +1 to It Follows; one of my favorite horror movies in recent memory - second only to The Witch, which I ******* adored. The atmosphere was so incredibly good, and that score...

I actually want to get a tattoo of Black Philip now.
