I honestly feel like there's less and less of a reason to "talk beer" lately - I'd personally just rather drink it and appreciate it, rather than criticizing every single stupid thing about it.But is there a good reason to bail out? I'm not sure if I see a reason yet.
I mean, unless it's super juicy - I'm looking at you, Reckless.
With that said, I'm finally catching up on this thread and re: Benchmark, I really am super-bummed - mainly because it's always sad to see great breweries close, but also because I'm guilty of not giving them a fair shake.
I honestly think if they opened now, rather than a few years ago, they would have probably sustained more success. You look at Eppig and how well they seem to be doing, and it's kind of sad that Benchmark didn't enjoy the same success despite having a similar philosophy.
But I mean, that kind of goes hand in hand with what we're talking about re: San Diego and its beer scene, I suppose.
