That's surprisingly specific, but then I realized why. Thanks .49% off
Oof I was just at B&V and completely forgot this was released.kingg got in Founders Curmudgeon's Better Half today - don't sleep on it. It's killer on its own merits, with the BLiS barrel character melding beautifully with the base, yielding assertive yet well-integrated maple syrup (especially on the nose), but when you factor in the $14.99/4pk pricepoint, it's ******* absurd.
I won't be entirely shocked if it languishes on shelves since it's labeled an old ale, but anyone who follows the BiL mantra and passes on this needs to reevaluate their existence.
I need to go pick up some today. That **** was life back in the day, hope it's still good...kingg got in Founders Curmudgeon's Better Half today - don't sleep on it. SPECIAL HERBS SAW DISTRIBUTION????As of yesterday evening, Bottlecraft NP still had a couple bottles of Special Herbs. I may have picked up the vast majority of bottles on display, hehe.
Mindblowing that Upright's best beer is so readily available via distribution now.
Yessir. 375's too. Their Stone Junkie Apricot Saison is pretty damn tasty as well.SPECIAL HERBS SAW DISTRIBUTION????
Yeah, super limited - I only know of Bottlecraft that got any bottles.SPECIAL HERBS SAW DISTRIBUTION????
I need to pick that up for sure. Upright arguably still makes some of the most well-balanced, complex saisons that aren't overly tart.Yessir. 375's too. Their Stone Junkie Apricot Saison is pretty damn tasty as well.

It's comforting to know that even if I don't find anything that strikes my fancy, I can walk out of one of those places with a 3G OG and know I made the right decision. The amount of good beer sitting on shelves right now is fairly absurd, especially the selection of lambic available. It takes a lot of willpower to not buy more Cuvee Armand & Gaston every time I go to Bine & Vine or Bottlecraft...I don't need more, I have plenty, but I'll be damned if I'm not tempted by it...

You raise a valid point.Ummmm, you always need more.
$5.50/canMT getting in on the 19.2 action. Please tell me those are going to to be $45+ four pks.![]()
$5.50/can
I thought that at first as well. Then...Wasn't sure what to expect with pricing, but I can get behind that price point for sure. Was pleasantly surprised.

Per ounce is $0.286, cans of normal Orderville at Vons are $0.196 when its “on sale” I know this is a special online sale release and more face melting hops yadda yada but still roughly 50% increase per ounce is nothing to sneeze at.
Agreed better comparison. But I didn't buy any of that release so I didn't know the price. Though two cents an ounce savings didn't exactly scream value to me. I'm not trying to complain I'm just not MT's Target customer anymore and that's fine. How about comparing it to the 4 packs of the same beer that were sold earlier this year for $19.50? $0.305 per ounce then, so this is a little cheaper, which is nice.
That said, I might prefer regular Orderville, so it's quite the deal at its price. However, I didn't really think the DDH version even resembled it much (which disappointed me, because I thought the draft DDH from last year did), and should probably just be compared with the other hazy releases.
Not sure how I feel about these 19.2 oz cans. It's really the new bomber but less ounces.
I totally get why 4-pack pints have become the thing these days, but I really wish the trend had stuck with 12 oz cans. When I drink at Obriens (which for most beers they allow you to have 5, 10, or 16 oz pours), I usually go for 10 oz because you get to experience more than a taster but you leave room for trying a variety of beers.I haven't had a 19.2-oz can yet but am not crazy about the idea, at least for an IPA. I think I prefer 16-oz cans because it's one full pour and I can more easily have a few different beers in a session. I guess it'll be nice for those times (which haven't happened yet) where I drink a pint and think, "If only I had 3.2 more ounces."

As someone who increasingly wants to drink lots of beer but not want to get drunk off beer, I agree.I totally get why 4-pack pints have become the thing these days, but I really wish the trend had stuck with 12 oz cans.
