More and more I find that at beer events, the general crowd is more fun to be around than the wannabe elites who pay extra to feel special.

After a few beers I do agree, but I pay extra to avoid it until I can handle other people. Being elite would be awesome AF, but all I do is drink a lot of beer...and yet...still never enough.

Um, isn't this the case with every brewery membership as well?
Pretty much, and I'm not in any brewery memberships.
Except most memberships give you what you paid for in beer / merch. Being able to buy more **** is just on top.
Also don't forget this is a one time event "privilege". Just seems out of touch like jwacky said earlier.

Except you get stuff with brewery memberships (beer/merch/discounts)? At least the ones I sign up for, I don't sign up for the ones where you get like 1 bottle and a pat on the back.

lol $60 for a pilsner fest

get the **** outta here

Ehhh, I'd rather pay $60 for unlimited well made pilsners than $60 for a bunch of ****** pastry stouts. On top of which, FW knows how to throw a festival, and I'd expect this one to be as exceptional as their others.

Edited to add: I'd sure as **** rather do this than spend $45 on 12oz of beer, which is primarily just variations of a beer they already saturate the market with!
Bingo. I'd gladly spend $60 to hang out with friends and drink Live Oak Pils all day.

Pretty much everyone I know uses Cash, PayPayl, or Venmo. Get with the times GRANDPA
Venmo has single-handedly made cash obsolete for me.

Yeah, but in an an attempt to out-curmudgeon you: it's easier to use cash and not have to close out tabs at a busy bar while everyone waits, and, for the business, cash is still king. Fees on credit card transactions, those dudes who close out on a $4 tab over and over again bc they "don't want to forget their card," those same dudes who forget their card and then cancel it and never come back, bartenders usually get taxed on their credit tips but not cash. Additionally, using credit at bars regularly can hurt your credit score. ****, when someone is paying me back I'd always rather have cash than Venmo.

You have any evidence to support the claim "using credit at bars regularly can hurt your credit score". AFAIK the credit score people don't know the contents of what you are charging, just how much, for how long. Unless you were implying people that put bar tabs on credit are more likely to carry a balance. sdreaper don't you work for one of them?

lol what? I use CC for 90%+ of my transactions, and lord knows I'm at the bar way too ******* much. My credit score is 794.

also, you can pry my credit card points from my cold dead fingers

Some old guy told me that one time and I chose to believe it because he seemed old and wise and this is the internet and I can say whatever the hell I want god dammit. Should've known to leave that point out, lawd.
