I'm wondering if they produced more of it than the other BA beers or if the price is finally turning people off. I'll admit I bought one, but it was simply as a favor for a friend of a friend that's out of state - I'm not especially price sensitive, but $24 for 375ml is pretty absurd.

I secured one, but using it as an addition to a trade overseas for some seasonal lambic. It tasted good, since they had a preview keg on at Common Theory a few weeks back, but not good enough to justify the price/amount.

Can anyone please translate what beer/ brewery that is?

Sorry, BA All of the Lights from Abnormal, their nutella porter

NM I found it. That price dies seem a little crazy.

I am not certain how much the ingredients for these beers cost anymore, but they are still riding that hypetrain that Derek created. Plus I felt regular All of the Lights was his best beer. I do not recall if he brewed the base before he left, but I do know it was not treated the same.

Their IG post indicates that they had a "significantly higher amount available", so, yeah.

Mikkeller's "X" cans pushed this price point as well recently, IIRC. The price of beer is too damn high.
I don't know what Mikkeller charged at the brewery but it was $18.50 at Bottlecraft for a 16oz can = $1.16/oz - high but tolerable (for me, anyway, especially since it was fantastic). $24/375 ml = $1.89/oz is somewhat less so. I realize adjuncts add cost and ultimately, they sold every drop, it's just continuing to push the limits.

Agreed re: pushing the limits. But for now it appears the limit has not been met. 20 minutes or so is still relatively quick.

Odd; 'X' is listed on the Mikkeller website still for $23. Just the Mikkeller way, I guess.

The original only had coffee and hazelnut as the adjuncts. No idea if they added vanilla to the BA version.
Does it have vanilla in it? High quality vanilla beans are more expensive by weight than silver these days.

Still pretty crazy to hear that, though! I have no idea how much ingredients ever cost, haha.

This seems to be the prevailing reason to buy these pastrystouts from Abnormal - I'm noticing a large swath of this stuff going overseas for some loons.

Not a bad strategy, actually. If I weren't so thoroughly over trading, I might even consider it.

With the cost of shipping, it's not even worth it. Especially if you're going international.

Am I reading the copy correctly in understanding that a $45 VIP ticket gets you a taster glass, 4 x 3oz pours, catered "light bites," and access to purchase more beer? The beer lists are great for both sessions but the pricing seems a bit off...
12oz of beer for $45, seems legit

I'm over most of these festivals. I'm even skipping Dankness this year. **** is so expensive.

I mathed it out as needing to eat about $20 in small bites. Since the 12oz of beer would run about $20 inside anvil and stave and I was estimating $5 for the glass.

Yeah, shipping would only be worth it if you filled at least a 6bottle shipper. I am physically going over seas so that is why I am doing the trade.

I heard all the bites were going to be guac based.

PP Strong Ale Fest still gives the most alcohol for the buck. I somehow leave with more taster tickets than I started with every time......
Easily the best event in SD for the past decade. But even I have been skipping that the couple years. Their list used to be full of straight up whales. Now it's still good, but a shadow of what it was.

Our bottle shares have better lineups than nearly every beer festival. That being said there are some really fun festivals to go to that go beyond the beer itself.
