I should be back in SD sometime in April. Is that someplace worth stopping in to?
How do you feel about literal hole-in-the-wall dive bars that have no windows, minimal lighting, stiff cocktails and, for some weird reason, have a really damned good craft beer selection?

Sounds like an evening. I will absolutely be going back to False Idol while I'm there. I'll be in town for my BIL's ship coming in and I think he would like that place.

Still haven't stopped in yet but it's a good read: https://westcoastersd.com/2019/03/05/the-publicans-live-wire/
That's crazy! I haven't been back to Live Wire in almost 20 years! I used to live walking distance from there, but we'd always drive so we could hit the Taco Bell drive through down the street, on the way home. They always had bands playing on Sat. No clue how we all fit in that place. But, we did.

I'm def grabbing a beer there next time I'm in town.

"some weird reason"? How about first craft beer bar in San Diego for a reason? Or that the owners know their **** for a reason?

Then he posted this a little while ago:
Reckless Brewing said:
Yesterday I posted something and I am incredibly sorry. It was offensive to many people and I would do anything to take it back. That post is the result of me being stupid and clueless and ignorant as everyone is saying. I will accept that. But harming or offending people is truly the last thing that I intended.

I’ve never been like other people and it is a problem. I just don’t have the same ability to understand what is offensive to people the way others do. I am often socially awkward and just don’t understand people the way others do. Because of this lack of awareness I truly just didn’t understand how my post would be received. It didn’t occur to me that it would be hurtful or offensive. I definitely wouldn't have posted it if I had.

The fact that people are calling me a racist is hurting me to the bone because I have always treated and thought about all people with equal amounts of compassion and respect regardless of race. Some people who don’t know me may think that my post indicates otherwise, and I wish there were something I could do for you all to know me as a person so that you would realize that it’s true.

There is probably no coming back from this and I am thinking that my stupid inability to understand people will result in the killing of Reckless Brewing. If that is my fate then I will accept that someone like me just shouldn’t have a business like this. I’ve let down my customers and everyone associated with my brewery. I am sorry to everyone.
This is the worst day of my life and I seem to deserve it.

lmao, "I'm not racist"

I'm well aware of its roots - I was being intentionally facetious because jokes.

Apparently that's a fake account that someone created to purposely smear the **** out of Reckless. Not like they really need any help running their rep to the ground. Another fake one:

One of those breweries I forgot existed and assumed they went away.

Drove by Jacked Up Brewing in Escondido on Saturday. Didn't even know that place existed since last I heard they were looking for a spot in Vista.

It's crazy to me just how many breweries there are like that. I have no ******* clue how they stay afloat. Some must be money laundering fronts.

Blame Toronado and Hamilton's.
During the early days of Toro when the closed at 10 I'd hang out midweek and go with the bartenders to Live Wire after. I learned
A. I can't hang with bartenders and go to work the next day for 10 hours.
B. I'd do it anyway.
C. Beer beer beer whiskey whiskey whiskey is bad.
