I think we should start a movement to hype the haze-bro releases as much as possible. That way I can continue to walk into PP or any other grocery store and get multiple sixers of fish, swami's, or CA Honey for less than one or two "special" four pk releases.
Thanks golden for the heads up!!

They dont need any help.

No more FO sadly.

I will say that The Publican is probably the best beer I've had in San Diego so far. Out ******* standing. Société was the best brewery I've been to in CA.
It's so funny how far by the wayside Societe has fallen in the county, hypewise - they are arguably the best brewery in town, yet we see Pupil on taplists and don't even think twice.

I haven't been drinking for over six weeks now (cleansing in solidarity with the SO), and the only time I've ever truly craved beer was 1) seeing cans of Fish IPA and 2) thinking about how good a crowler of Heiress would be this weekend .

**** man, I lasted an hour, what more do you expect?

Ridiculous event last night, I'm running out of superlatives to describe Modern Times at this point. Monster Tones is still on another level, just an absurd beer.
Great event, but I think I'm the only guy who didn't like your beer. It doesn't help that I was tasting it along side some of the best **** that MT has ever done, I guess.

Walked into Best Damn to pickup some overpriced bananas and noticed a bunch of Rip Current's BA Black Lagoon on the shelf and got excited since I missed the sale while in Bahrain. Checked the price Rip charged ($23+tax) on their eventbrite site and asked the cashier for a price check........ $33

I'm pretty sure they still had this at the brewery when I was there on Saturday...but I don't know if it was in house only or not.

Back from the land of lambic and unlike reidjoshua I was not held at an airport for an additional 24hours, yay.

I also did the math on what I spent for the week while over there, so.....beans and rice for a while for me. 0 fux, would do over and over and over again.

Type of thing where you'd have regretted NOT doing it when you had the chance even more.

I really need to make it to Belgium. How much did you make it home with? Totes jelly.

I personally came home with 11 bottles on me since matt needed another space for a last minute trade he did. I am having Etre ship 24 bottles to the Winesellar since they can accept and sign for alcohol and will call me when it arrives (perks of having a cage there).

With shipping, bottles come out to roughly $31/per. Same bottles on shelves (they loaded us up with A&G batches) are about that cost already.

Niiiiiice.

What the serious ****!? I thought extra bags were only $50-75 max last time I flew international. Granted that was a few years ago, but still, nice price hike.

I only know that price is about what extra bags between here in CO cost on airlines like Frontier. Southwest, obviously 2 checked bags are covered. American is about 75 for an extra. But yeah, pricey AF on United. I didn't mind shipping though, Lugging 1 full winecheck through an airport is bad enough, I couldn't even imagine having to do that with 2.

Edit: I messed up, they are $100 per. So 100 to get there and 100 to get back. And if I took another one, I would have been able to accommodate the other trades I was going to set up.

You buy something like this so you can take 2 boxes, your larger rolling carry-on and a backback.

Also, you fly enough so you have status so you get more free bags.

And then you still ship back a case or two from 3F.

Step 1: Convince myself to actually fly more than once every 5ish years..

Step 2: everything else you said above.
I mean, you really only get status by flying for work. Which generally isn't worth the status. Let's put it this way, I'd much rather not earn the status, but if I'm going to be flying this much anyway then the status is critical.

If you don't want to do that, then you play the credit card game and fly business or first, which always include more free bags.

I really should have paid for business class for the adventure back from Brussels. We found deals on tickets that made it about $800 RT with only a layover in Dulles. An upgrade to business class for the 2 flights (BRU -> IAD, IAD -> SAN) was only $350. So not terrible, but that would also been less money to blow on just drinking lambic all day.

The tack I used on two Belgium trips was to check one bag on the way out, with a nylon duffel bag and a roll of bubble wrap inside it, and bring a smaller roller bag as my carry-on. Then on the way back, fill the previously checked bag and the roller bag with the weight limit of bottles, and put my clothes in the duffel bag and use that as my carry-on. Then I'm only paying the $100 second-bag fee one way. I brought back about 25 bottles both times.
