The firing sucks, as does the ****** direction of the company, but that doesn't mean I still can't **** with some canned pastrystouts

Yeah, and I'm sure details will eventually come out one way or another. Probably a whole lot more going behind the scenes that we can even speculate. I'm curious who is taking over the membership group/social media duties and the direction it'll go in the second half of the membership year. IMO they have some ground to make up.

I can't tell which firing arren and jwacky are referring to. I am almost thinking that arren is going after the Little Miss stuff and then mentioned maple vanilla shake just because the thought crossed his mind but then that lead jwacky to think it was in reference to mikkeller issues.

Edit: Also Happy Birthday Arren

I think you're right? I was definitely referencing Mikkeller in my post. Can't to get my hands on some Maple Vanilla Shake tomorrow. And per that email there is still some Traeblod available for crowler fills. Woohoo, diabetes!!

When I was there Tuesday night, Traeblod was allowed to be crowlerable by the public if they wanted. I kinda hope it lasts through friday though. Having tasters of Traeblod, Vanilla Shake, and Maple Vanilla Shake tasted so good.

Yep you're right; it was a reference to me saying the Little Miss situation sucked.

Though that's essentially what happened with Mikkeller and Bill too, I'm sure.

I talked with Bill a bit last Saturday but decided not bring that up and just about what he's currently up to and how the new project is coming along. The new project will be a 7 barrel system from Premier. He's been helping out Resident, Black Plague (who hopes are in business for the right reason), and I think somewhere else I can't remember.

...ehhhh, define "right reason." My former boss has minority ownership stake in it, and I can tell you "being one of the beacons for the craft beer movement" isn't in their ten-year plan.

Anyone who doesn't get their ducks in a row before opening a money sucking business probably shouldn't make a go at it.

I know easier said than done, but man, I couldn't imagine paying pricy rent for an empty building or paying back a business loan based on a model that isn't playing out correctly.

Pulling a St. Archer.
Yep. According to him Tony Hawk has stake in Black Plague too.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with that right now; from what I can see they still care about putting out a quality product, so it's not that big a deal yet.

Is this still a thing? Seems like that ship has sailed.

I heard that Thr3e Punk Ales is good. Has anyone here checked them out yet? Looking for some more opinions on them.

Eh.....what I had was basically malty messes that were called IPAs. If this were the midwest and they opened near ThreeFloyds they could compete with Zombie Dust, but here....I dunno. I would give their beers a D+ *needs improvement* parent signature required.

Best part is you can order a beer at Bottlecraft and walk around too. Makes me wish other places would do that.

For example, I know some Whole Foods allow you to order a pint at the bar and walk around while you shop for groceries. I don't think any SD Whole Foods do that, sadly.
CA law sadly doesn't allow that.

i domed a crowler of Traeblood by myself on a whim last Friday.... was pretty tough to work through it solo, very sweet and thick/viscous...

Trying anything not hoppy?

More and more I'm not trying hoppy beers from newer breweries since I know where I can reliably get quality hoppy beers.

Not arguing your conclusion, but it seems odd to single out hoppy beers on that front. There are a lot of styles that we can reliably get great examples of locally, what makes hoppy beers different as far as your desire (or lack thereof) to try new options?

No offers of non-hoppy beers when I visited. I personally rather drink pales and lighter beers as I find it is significantly more difficult to hide brewing flaws (this is my uneducated opinion in brewing though so not sure how legit it is). Basically if they can't brew a clean beer, why would I bother drinking an adjunct-filled mistake?

Sure, plenty of great examples of non-IPA around town but I think there are more bad/mediocre/average IPAs compared to the rest of the styles.

fukin reprobate

Is The Reprobate a new Societe hazy IPA?

Saw that Mikkeller bar in L.A. is going to have Fou' Foune on draft. Made me reminisce about that time when K&B had it and we got in an hour before the crowd. Waiter walking by, "Another Foune, sir?" Why yes, keep them coming, young man!

I'd drive to L.A. for that experience again, but I'm sure this time it will be me way deep in line while some other ******** drink it all haha.

It is very sweet beer, and thick. I might lack a lot of knowledge about maple stouts but I sorta expect them to be thick and sweet. I also had the abnormal bottlecraft colab today "koozy" I really enjoyed it. It lacked the "boozieness" that I tend to get from Northeast IPAs.
