It feels a little sinful to open this by myself, but this is a celebration: I've officially accepted a position for the 2015-2016 schoolyear with the Santa Cruz Writes Young Writers Program. We're a Santa Cruz-based non-profit that helps coordinate and mentor creative fiction, poetry, and essay writing at elementary and high schools around Santa Cruz county.

I've been volunteering with this two-person (three, now!) organization for the past two years, and since they received some extra funding this year, it allowed them to create a Publication Coordinator position, which they asked me to fill.

I'm extremely excited to be able to stay in Santa Cruz for a few more months, and to have the opportunity to work with an organization that I love, doing good, fulfilling work that I firmly believe in.

A Cellar bottle seemed like the obvious choice for celebration.
