I don't understand why they don't just post that at 3 if they're opening at 3. There's going to be an absurd line there starting about now-ish until closing which certainly won't help people respecting their neighbors. Post at 3. Your regulars will be able to get some and all the heathens can come tomorrow to clean you out.

I've been wondering the same thing. Back when lines weren't as long, most releases were silent. Now, when there's likely to be a line before opening on any given day it seems they are only encouraging that more. Oh well...I'll likely pass on this go around.

I'll be the first to admit, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I've only been to Nebco once at the old location so I've got no dog in this fight. Just doesn't make sense when they know what the outcome is. They're going to sell out either way

I don't have a reason for why they'd announce at noon vs when they open.

I do think they announce it now (vs being silent releases in the past) so that people can't complain that they had no idea it was on tap. They get bombarded with questions about FBD all the time, last thing they want/need is more people bitching about missing it because it wasn't posted on Facebook.

It's a real nice beer, but I just don't think it lives up to they hype. Wonder if some of it has to do with the name. If it was just called, Citra IPA or something simple like that, would it still draw the same crowds?

Completely agree.

Meh...let em whine. I'd rather see customers have a nice surprise walking in rather than a flock of a holes waiting outside but that's me.

While no beer could live up to this level of hype, it is a world class IPA. The name definitely contributes to the hype.

Not sure where they stand with production and staffing but would like to see expanded hours. Doesn't have to be every day, keep current days offered but open at noon or earlier.

Pretty sure they used to be open at noon, hours changed just prior to the move IIRC.

Somewhat related to expanding hours, I was in there a couple weeks ago and some guy was asking about expanding the taproom itself and Craig mentioned that they had had people come in to "look into it" but they hadn't made any decisions. That would be pretty rad if they added additional taps, it seems like the 6 they have just simply isn't enough for the sheer number of people they get in.

Yeah, they casually opened at noon at old location, was easy to stop and fill during lunch. Demand and hype nowhere near the current levels, though.

Yeah I miss being able to swing in and out earlier in the day but I also think given demand levels since moving that they'd have run completely out of beer pretty frequently if they maintained the longer hours.

The hours changed when the location did. Once they started to get busy it made less sense to be open for fills constantly presumably because they were just having the brewers head over to handle that in their spare moments. Fewer customers meant it wasn't ever an issue and one of the big things that I miss about the old spot was that you'd frequently wind up with either of the Matts, James, or Sebastian filling growlers for you.

I love Craig and Juli and enjoy chatting with them every time the tap room isn't insanely busy, which is rare now as well, but getting to know and talk with the whole team just by going in for growlers isn't really a thing that happens anymore and I miss that more than I miss not having to wait in long lines.

I do miss not having long lines though.

And what the hell happened to Troy?

They posted a position on probrewer looking for a tasting room manager and stated they would be looking to expand hours, so it wouldn't be shocking if it happened soonish.

"We are looking to add a passionate individual to our team to run our tasting room. Our tasting room is open currently 4 days a week but we will be looking to expand these hours once this position is filled. We are a production brewery on pace to brew 14,000 bbls in 2015. We hope to fill this position with an individual that is passionate about craft beer, has knowledge of craft beer styles, has great customer service experience, is cleanly, has retail experience, and is energetic. "

I think they may have reasons for not posting this in more public forums, like Facebook and the like. I don't want to speak for them, but maybe take down the link so they aren't inundated with emails from people outside the industry. Not trying to be combative, just something to consider. Nice info, though!

My theory is that the first large batch they did after they moved was an AMAZING batch. A ton of people got to try it and the hype began. I've tried every batch since then (2 others I believe) and neither were as good as the first one. Now it seems the hype has simmered down a bit. :)

For anyone arriving shortly, the line is about 20 people deep outside but this is one of the days where people aren't using space inside very efficiently, as everyone is lined up straight for the corner of the bar instead of snaking.

It was already #1 American IPA on BA before that batch- the first batch after the move had the batshit insane 4 hour line so I don't think there wasn't hype then, haha.

Batch 2 (super bowl weekend 2013) was the batch that got it there- that's what bumped it past sculpin on BA. I showed up 15 min before open that day and there were literally zero people there. Matt let me in early, I filled one 64 of FBD, one of gold stock, and shot the **** with him. Turned into what amounted to a clusterfuck back in those days, they set the jockey box up in the back and did fills there too. It was already limit 2 then and I remeber some really really ******* retarded homies giving Matt an enormous amount of **** because "nobody told them there would be a limit and they wouldn't have driven from jersey if they knew." That's the most pissed I've ever seen Matt.

I think we shared some night shift beer then. Bc I was Def one of the first that day too and remember it or maybe that was another day we shared the bottle...also remeber getting like 4 oR 5 fills

Was it their third batch they completely dumped?

I believe batch 2 in the middle of January 2013 was dumped. Then it was rebrewed and came out for the tap takeover at Prime and was on with Gold Stock right before the Super Bowl.

Yep! Only reason I got any of that batch, no way I would have made it down on the original timeline. Wouldn't have overlapped with Gold Stock anyway so I probably wouldn't have even cared enough to try to trade for it or find it on tap :p

Haha lack of memory.

I also remember one batch being dumped. Today peeps would of been up in arms

If I remember correctly, the Facebook post announcing that they dumped that batch was full of pretty gross comments from people. It wasn't much better back then

Ha! I remember when they set up that JB! I had no idea it was even there but what a great surprise... :)
