Brewed up a holiday ale today...pumpkin (mash), sweet potato (boil), spice, hallertau (75, 15) and saaz (5)...should come in around 7.5-8% abv. The kitchen smelled like pumpkin pie.

Built my CFC yesterday....still need to trim the copper tubing down, but it's almost finished

I like that CVC. How much did it run ya?

It was about $45...found 50' of copper tubing on ebay for cheap, and the hose was on sale (bought it last November). I still have about 25' each of garden hose and copper tubing. Gonna make a couple copper racking canes for this weekend's brewing adventures.

Do you want to sell me the rest?

I went ahead and pulled money out of the e-bay account, that way I can make the order when it goes through:ban:

Kegged the cream ale yesterday:ban: I will be tapping it this weekend. Now I only have 15 gallons of beer and 12 gallons of wine in various stages of fermentation:rockin:

Is that the Biermunchers cream of three crops you talked about? I've got a similar recipe I just dry hopped with lemongrass that I will keg on fri or sat. Quite the pipeline you have. I bet your neighbors love you.

It is the Biermunchers Cream of Three Crops recipe. It was a 10 gallon batch that was split with Tbesst, but his is already gone. The neighbors aren't invited to drink, I do give one neighbor a glass every now and then and I am trying to get him to learn to brew.

I hope it turns out better than mine did, imo that recipe is the most over brewed swill on this site.

I brewed it for other folks to drink, I don't think I will be making much of it. I personally like a little more malt in my beers.

I've got my batch kegged as well, but haven't tapped it yet. At least it's an easy way to pay off the roommates for taking over the kitchen/fridge with my beer projects.

I make one batch of Cream Ale for the Fourth. My opinion is that it is pretty insipid. But, people find it drinkable on a hot day and, like you guys, I brew it for others.

Hands off the IPA, you damn mooches!!! Drink the crap I made for you!!!

It should be fine, is just that light colored low hopped ales just aren't as good as the same lager. Of course lagers require a lot more equipment, and work.

My 10 year anniversary is today:fro: Now I just have to go an pick-up something for the most patient wife every. I leave the kitchen a mess every time I brew and she does give me a little crap about it, but then she helps clean it up.

Since we both have to work today we will celebrate by going out on Saturday. I am thinking dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, spent our 2nd anniversary in Vegas eating there, and then off to watch a movie of her picking. Then back home to the bedroom for some real partying.

I don't think I can convince here that a trip to Belgium is the best of Anniversary gifts and it seems like she wants to go on a cruise, so I may have to give in an schedule an future cruise:mad:

I have the choice of cleaning up my garage or drinking, sorry Dave, you get to see a dirty garage tomorrow. mmmm, beer.

Took a taste sample a couple days ago... it was pretty dang good, which really surprised me seeing that we were all a little loopy by that point (at least I was).

That was a kind of failed brew day, although a blast. We'll do it again, but start a little later in the process before busting out the 9% fizz bombs.:D

I totally jacked up the ipa I was making for the brew meeting on the 25th, tried batch sparging like an idiot and lost 10 points! It should be a real hop bomb, the samples tasted dang good, all Columbus and Simcoe hops.

....consuming beer or cleaning? Certainly is an easy question to answer. More beer!

Agreed...after those green apple brain bombs, all common sense disappeared.
