Don't laugh, we will be back.

Exactly what I was thinking! All the pictures show SWMBO and all the caption read "We"

Hey hey I drilled the tap holes! For the other steps someone has to drink the beer and watch the laborers!

haha, I just figured you all would rather see her than my ugly mug :mug:

There are some photos of me that I left out which are actually in my gallery if you wanted to see them to verify that I actually did do some work on this thing. ;)

Besides she was just as excited to get this thing done as I was! And since she said it could go in our house she wanted to be sure it was done right and looked good.

Your build looks great and my family loves the gators too. In fact my sons room is painted blue and orange.

I'm in the process of collecting all my parts for my build and would like to do something like yours or Hoppopotomus but one of my goals is not to do anything irreversible to the freezer. I'm thinking I'll have to replace the lid of the freezer with my own and figure a way to get an air tight seal when it closes.

Thanks for posting the pictures,

Scott

Nice build. Working on one myself. Quick question, why put the plywood sheet on top of the original lid, and not just use the original lid by itself?

Sorry its taken so long to reply, I was out of town this weekend. It comes down to a solid foundation. The freezer lid is really thin and flimsy, mine was pretty dimpled already. And I imagine if you attached the tile and tap box (which is extremely heavy) directly to it, it could cause warping and possibly cause the tiles to pop off. So I figured a thicker and more stable foundation would be best. I believe the other keezer builders do the same thing.

I love the look & the fact that you didn't have to craft a collar. Would you be willing to provide a make & model of the freezer you used? I showed the pictures to my wife & asked her if I built one that has natural wood like yours, would it qualify as indoor furniture. Sadly, i was denied. Guess it will be shown off in the brewhouse!

Very impressive. I can only hope that when I build mine it looks that nice.

To be honest I don't understand the choice of logo, or the comments on the logo though. Must be an American thing eh?

Personally I would like a dragon on mine ;)

Thanks! I didn't care for the collar idea either, though there are some really good looking keezers out there with a collar. I just wanted a tap box/bar top style. And the dark wood goes really well with the black tile and freezer body.

Just promise to keep something she likes on tap all the time! Then if she wants to be sure it matches your current furniture let her help out :)

The freezer is a Frigidaire Commercial Series Chest Freezer
Model #: FFC09C3AW5

I thinks its around 8.8 or 9 cu ft.

Thanks! Just take the time to plan it out and it will come out really well for you. I never did any wood working prior to this and I just worked through issues as they came up (with the help of SWMBO of course :) ). The logo is my University logo. So of course fans of other teams have to hate on mine and stick up for their own schools. But that's part of what college rivalry is all about! Good luck on your build!

While I can't fully appreciate this as I'm a Vol fan, that's a pretty sweet build. I really like the lights. I may have to incorporate something like that into mine.

Hmm, for some reason I didn't get the email about this post. Anyway, I am sorry to hear about your collegiate allegiance ;) I actually had Tennessee beating Michigan in my bracket. And now you know how my bracket is doing :) But I had to pull for the SEC anyway!

The lights came out really well. Of course (like my entire setup) I stole the idea from Jester369, but I had to push up it a notch so I went for 2 strands of lights tied to a dimmer! And I think it came out well, the pictures can't really capture it, some shots look kind of purple which is not the case at all in person. Anyway good luck with your build!

Cheers! :mug:

Hey Ciliorozo.....finally finished my keezer build.....here's a pic. Many more pics on my thread. Hope yours is still "serving your" well.

I like the look of yours, i want to make Jester type myself in the following weeks (months). Just curious, is the first pull from the tap warmer, even though its insulated? Any temp difference?

Hey Olibrew, Thanks! Sorry its taken me a while to respond. I am actually in the process of moving (back to Florida!) and so my computer time has been limited. Anyway, I do not notice a temperature change from the first pull to any subsequent pull. If there was a noticeable change I would put in a fan to circulate the air. I actually built in a spot to stick a fan in the event this was the case. But so far its been great!

Good luck with your build. If you have any questions just ask!

Cheers! :mug:

Sweet built. And Cheers to your wife for all that support. We should all be that luck.

Awesome keez! I don't understand how you can live in ATX and have Gator Garbage all over it, but I guess it's better than having U. Texas crap!! Awesome build though!! Eat 'em up Kats!

What stain did you use on this? I'm planning on cloning your build if you don't mind. I love it, I'm a huge Gator fan!

Absolutely! I was inspired by Jester369! So feel free to use what you want. I will get you the information on the stain, I don't recall at the moment, but I will dig it out of the box and let you know! Cheers and Go Gators!!! :mug:

The stain is the Cabot Jarrah Brown deck stain. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. It took me a while to find the stain. I have attached an image of the stain. Cheers!

I know I'm late to this party, but I love your Keezer. I'm doing one very similar(but my magnets will change depending on the sporting event on the 120" screen!! Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, U of M, Central Michigan, etc...)

I bought some black granite tile today, and it was so freaking heavy. How did you make it work? I also bought oak for the base. Then after realizing it was going to be $150-$200 for wood alone, for the entire project, I returned it and came back with some whiteboard from Lowes at 1/3 the cost.
