No fiery explosions, @Dland , but some small, muted, but hefty, POPs (windows mebee?). Fire dept was literally (not figuratively) 50' away, but it was 10 minutes before they were on the scene. Perhaps on another call.

Got the plates laid for the workshop this weekend. The cost of the 2x8 pressure treated was just about the same as the entire cost for the raw timbers from a local sawmill last summer. Crazy.

Top plate front wall. Same captured scarf on the rear. Next up is to build a 24' 8x12 glutam to span the middle. I don't want any posts in the middle of the workspace.
