My buddy and I just booked a much needed trip to Denver for 2 days, we will be there the night of April 19th and 20th. I plan to do a lot of research on my own, but would love some recs/pointers/tips. We are staying downtown at Aloft.

I am look for suggestions on...

-Best dispensaries in terms of best quality w/o getting price gouged.
-Restaurants - maybe steakhouse one night, but looking for places with good food and good taps
-Bars/breweries - know falling rock, any other must visit bars? Which breweries are a must?
-Are there any 420 related events? Beer or otherwise?
-I think the cubs are in town, how easy it to scalp tickets if we make a late decision to check out a rockies game?

Thanks!

Powder Keg is closing =[

Keg, Powder

7/9/2014 -- 3/10/2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Powder Keg Brewing Company, effective Saturday, March 10th, 2018. Powder Keg fought long battles with rent costs that outpaced sales growth, on-premise sales that declined with increased market saturation and regrettably low foot traffic. Powder Keg will be fondly remembered by beer lovers, Niwot locals and Zach.

Powder Keg is survived by memories of beer releases full of energy and excitement, Tuesday Nerd Talks, bluegrass jams, a space for local musicians to showcase their talents, and a plethora of beers we were incredibly proud of: Premiere Blanc, Palisade Reunion, Keyboard Warrior, Intergalactic, Supervoid, Heritage series beers and of course Underground membership beers...

A celebration of Powder Keg will be held on Saturday, March 10th from noon-10pm. Please keep an eye on our events page for special tappings, cellar releases and crowler releases. In lieu of gifts we are asking that everyone come up and have a beer with us. In remembrance, please go drink beers and support your favorite independent breweries- every beer is precious.

Freshcraft answers some of the above.

Do any local breweries sell kegs/is it legal in CO? Also any idea on a great shop for kegs in Denver or Colorado Springs area? My girlfriend and I are getting married in early September and road tripping to CO for a family reunion in early August, hoping to be able to grab something interesting if possible, odd13/weldwerks/cerebral/trve/Casey (I know some long shots) really anything delicious that we can’t get.

Someone posted a list of breweries that will sell kegs. I'll see if I can dig it up. Not sure of any on your list though.

Don't know how up to date it is but gives you a place to start

Those are just some I know of that we don’t get in distro. That list great. Might have to see if drydock has any BW kegs so we can turn our wedding night in to a drunken disaster. Thanks!

Like I said, I don't know how often that list gets updated or if they check out the smaller ones like Odd13 but a good starting point. It certainly doesn't hurt to call a brewery if you are really interested.

could also ask a place like Argonauts if they could get a keg of something. I think they can special order stuff from the distributor.

I'm the beer manager for a large liquor warehouse store. I'm happy to help solve your problem. Cerebral and TRVE I'm pretty sure sell kegs via taproom. I asked my TRVE rep for you.

Casey never. WW my rep just said no.

Odd13 is usually no .
