Such a good zone out record!![]()
Sometimes when you get ahold of a beer that for years you figured you'd never see you just need to pair it up with something chill to listen to for a couple hours. Truthfully, I'm not sure I've ever listened to this album in its entirety. I used to know a guy who drummed on a couple tracks on this and mostly I just listened to those two. Halfway through though and I'm wishing I had done this sooner.
Reminds me of the Punk-O-Rama comp's from Epitaph...good times. Here is the real star of that drunken discogs binge..

Haven’t heard the album proper in years (have their greatest hits or whatever)...damn does this bring back the best memories. Skating, drinking, smoking, *******, skipping school, running from the cops after drinking my underage weight in Natty ice at a college punk show....just totally ******* off. But the brilliance of this **** is that while it promotes a bit of all of that, it made me think at the same time. For the first time ever. It turned me basically into a ethical ****-off degenerate. The weight of the lyrics being logical, thoughtful....questioning ****. Politically conscious...tolerant...empathetic. I mean they cover Redemption Song for ***** sake. Probably the first time I’d ever heard it to boot. Ugh.
Really shaped me as someone who will always look at accepted standards with a slight cockeye...always skeptical...always looking for better.
I only have this on cd, but man, played the **** out of it.I hate picture discs. Overpriced. Cannot easily determine the side you want to play...
Anyway, jagoffbrewer HH awesomeness and hot water music covering poppy cryptic tunes from alkaline trio.

Man, “Let me Watch” is such a rad song. I remember hearing it on college radio years ago and being blown away. I also remember a debate about whether the Viktor Vaughn stuff was better than the MF Doom stuff.![]()
I love rap

Probably my favorite Townes album. I recently bought an album of his which I wasn’t familiar with and was a little disappointed. That live album really raised the bar.Relaxing and listening to some Townes. Just finished my whiskey. Moving onto beer next.

Alkaline Trio. I want a whole album of Alkaline Trio songs that sound like that. HWM's version of Radio is no sloucher though.Which side more?

All the feels for that split and Maybe I'll Catch Fire, ahhh my mislead youth.
kbuzz what do you think?
As far as HWM goes I've only ever listened to this split and the Moonpies for Misfits 7". What else is worth checking out?Have to be honest, never listen to the alkaline trio side. They don’t do it for me. But I’m a huge HWM fanboy, so their side never had a chance in this specific situation. Love God Deciding, Radio and Bleeder.
After this and No Division, HWM fell apart though. Lost the appeal.
