There's another shelf speaker above this. No preamp or anything. Only way I could talk my wife into this **** was if it was as "simple" as possible.

Honestly I was happy to compromise to get collection out into the open with needle in groove again.

I understand that bit about getting your collection out into the open. My collection and equipment was boxed up and stored for nearly 20 years. Sheer hell.

Mid 1970's. A different time for sure. I recall seeing an interview with Ann Wilson of Heart where she complained that her record label wanted to see light between her thighs to help sell records. She was furious(and justly so).

I was right at the cusp. I remember slowly downloading images of Pam Anderson in 1995 on dial up but also tolerating scrambled porn.

Also, I meant "widely", but "wildly" also works.
