In order to talk the wife into a trip to the record store before checking out our friend's gallery exhibit and going grocery shopping I had to sweeten the pot and offer to buy her a record. She settled on Dimmu Borgir's new record, Eonian. I'm curious to hear my thoughts on this one. One benefit though, this is the "beer splatter" variant color, so she won't even notice if I spill my stout, right?

Beer is...ugh. I don't get the people saying this is like cold brew coffee it tastes like ******* coffee grounds. Album is solid at least, though I prefer their stuff under the Subhumans moniker. In honor of this week's topic of 1999 albums, it is one of the few we own and I'm not near drunk enough to put on the Dropkick album.

The Body/Full of Hell - One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache
Almost Bastard Noise type free from noise at some points. Includes the always awesome "I just yell at a mike from five feet away" trademark The Body vocals and that kind of dragging, stumbling break down thing they do. Negative meditation.
Fat Orange Cat Brew Co - Launch
I bought this can of IPA specifically because it has a record and a turntable on the can with the intention of posting it to this thread.

I still need to get that first album. The Body and Thou both put out way too much for me to stay on top of. Interesting take on Leonard Cohen on that one too.

This is only their second release in my collection, so I’m way behind! I mainly have great memories from seeing them live years ago.

Did it come down to etching on the runouts? Those are the worst. Sometimes I give up and just pick one at that point.

I wish it were that easy. You can search discogs via the etching and that usually only leaves a few options. This though...I've never seen such a long explainer for different pressings on any albums I have: https://www.discogs.com/Misfits-Earth-AD-Wolfs-Blood/master/105459

It came down to album cover variation....purple or fuchsia. Blue writing or purple writing on one part. Long and the short is, I'm about 90% certain that this is a purple brick '83 pressing and 100% certain that I no longer really care since I have no plans to sell this.

Became addicted to Doug Paisley today, so beware...much vinyl to come.

His new album is great. I have been listening to it all week. To be honest, all his albums are pretty great. They get a lot of play in my house.

Yeah, I'm literally obsessed with this latest one. But I finally ran out of listens on Bandcamp, so I'll be buying the record today...and likely others.

Funny, because when I listen to him, I hear a combination of old bluegrass pickers like Norm Blake, etc and then the 60s/70s folk guys like Phil Ochs...which is why I ended up listening to Ochs last night (posted above). Low and behold, when digging around Paisley's discography this morning, I see there's a split record of him and Ochs. Small musical world.

Fat Orange Cat is fairly local to me. I had to go and buy a shirt and poster with that logo. The beer is decent but what a sweet logo!

Love this album to death. Beer is derplord.
