The wife, our little one, and I are going to be driving through Vermont later this summer. We're going to make an overnight stop at a B&B in Waterbury so I can check out the Alchemist. Doesn't look like we'll have time to make it up to Hill Farmstead, but it sounds like we might be able to sample some of their beers at restaurants in town. Any recommendations for food or fun while we are in the area?

Yes... First go to Prohibition pig down the road from The Alchemist. It is where the brewpub used to be. They have Hill Farmstead, Heady, and Lawsons on tap regularly.

There is also a bar called Black back(I think) which is pretty good across the street. Plus one more that escapes me with is about 20 feet up the road! Lastly, I would suggest you d drive 15 min to Stowe and visit the Trapp Family Lodge brewery. Exceptional beers and incomparable views.

Make sure you go to the Alchemist Mon-wed since that is when they can beer and distribute. They usually run out around Friday night each week.
