Just wanted to say thank you for the forums and all the advice I was able to glean for here.

Tasted my first bottle today and even with only being bottled for 2 weeks, my Vanilla Porter tastes awesome.

Going to let the rest of them sit for another week before starting in on drinking them.

Being my first batch, it tastes like heaven to me and I'm stoked. I already have another batch going right now, so a small pipeline has started.

Thank you all again and again and again.

Hey Congrats....

I just tasted my first brew today also.. A few threads down.

Tastes great knowing you brewed it doesn't it?

I now know that I need to get enough in th pipeline to never have to buy beer again, unless I want to taste somethint interesting enough to try to brew it.

Cheers

Congrats on the great brew! Do yourself a favor and go buy another carboy for secondary so you can have something multiple brews working at once!

If you think your porter tastes good now, put some away for a couple months and sample again. The difference is likely to blow you away.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I only pulled one bottle at the 2 week mark and it had decent carbonation the entire glass. I am waiting for at least another week before i start pounding them. :tank:

Being my first batch, it was an extract batch from the LHBS. I searched on here for advice on adding the vanilla beans, and added them 2 weeks into primary and left them there for 2 more. The vanilla is not over powering in my opinion, but it definitely can be tasted.

I love "Victory at Sea" and want to try my own version, but with some Starbucks vanilla infused coffee. I will have to see how that works out, thinking a cold brew and in the primary with the vanilla beans to help them mellow. I have been searching and reading about adding coffee, so thanks again for the advice.:D

I have that "on top of the world" feeling I get when someting I create comes to fruition. Thanks again to all on HBT for the multitude of posts that allowed me to not fret about my beer, but leave it be and taste success.

Just can't seem to say Thank You enough 'round here...:ban::mug:
