I bottled a week ago, and I was thinking of testing a bottle to see where it's at. If I open a swing-top, pour out a swallow (into a glass, not a mouth :) ), and reclose it, will it still carbonate correctly? I know it's not done, and I don't want to waste a bottle if it means it won't finish carbonating correctly.

Thanks!

I wouldn't risk contamination/oxidation, but it's up to you. If you're going to sample a very green beer, at least pour into a glass to get a proper taste, and drink the whole bottle.
