New to brewing. Friend of mine at work brews his own and it never really occured to me to do the same. When I moved to Tennessee the local stores just did not carry alot of different brews. So I thought to myself "Self, If you can't buy it, brew it :)" So I started 2 weeks ago, I have 3 different batch's fermenting, and I plan on going all grain within 30 days.

Ghost River makes a really good beer. Not sure exactly what all they make but I have the lager (I think it's the lager) every time I get down there.

Congrats! Welcome to HbT. Does your friend brew all grain? If not, definitely check out your local homebrew club. Your first grain batch solo will be way easier if you can watch and help with one first.

Hey guy,

Where at in tn are ya. I'm near Jackson I'm just beginning to brew myself

TL, I'm in Atlanta, but I have family from that general area. Humbolt, Dyersburg, Trenton, Milan. My folks grew up in Trenton.

T-B, My folks just moved to Memphis in Harbor Town. I think that's called Mud Island. I'll see if my mom has heard of any good brew pubs downtown.

Congrats and welcome to both of you. Go vols! haha

Thank you too. I'm hope to find a brew club close to here so I can get a general feel for it before I jump head long into it

Homebrew group out of Memphis.

Welcome. I am in Middle Tennessee now but both my wife and I are University of Memphis Alumni. I left Memphis in the early 90's but I still have some family just North of Memphis in Millington.

Welcome to the site. I am in your area too in Bartlett. I have been brewing for about a year, haven't gone all grain yet.
Sounds like you are jumping in full bore...3 batches in 2 weeks is a lot. I've only been on the forum for a month or so, but immediately found out I should have joined sooner. Lots of good information here.

Yeah I am jumping in with both feet. I should have my converted kegs within a week and I have some 2 1/2" stainless square tubing laying around to build a rolling stand with. My buddy does do all grain and kit's.

I'm of the opinion that anything worth doing is worth overdoing :) . Just got done bottling a batch of nut brown ale and it smells oh so good.
