lol, erick06019, I guess it's not for everyone. I keep smelling my New Castle Clone and it's crazy how it's changed over the time it's been fermenting.

Guilty as charged! I am a sniffer..Also sometimes wear red plaid(PJ pants count, right?) and I have a beard...Damn, triple guilty!LOL

Haha dont get me wrong i love me some airlock sniffing, just not when i get a nose full of co2 oucwrongAlso this current batch smells like farts...

I sniff every fermentation via the airlock. My very 1st fermentation I stuck my face down into the bucket & had a BIG sniff...
Learned an important lesson that time.
And yes, I own flannel shirts & sheets; they give me a warm fuzzy.
And I have a beard. :beard:
Regards, GF.

I stick my head down in the bucket to determine alcohol content on how bad my nose burns

Haha awesome! I'm yet to take the lid off my latest beer. It's only my 4th batch. But I figured I'd just leave that bad boy alone for 3 weeks then deal with it. Maybe 4 depending on when I am ready to wash my yeast.

I gotta find me some decent flannels that don't cost an arm and a leg. It's hard to find them that fit the shoulders and arm length without them being a big enough in the mid section to cover two of me.

Yep, still doing this with every batch I've made so far. Every time I walk by my fermentor I gotta get a sniff lol

Just took a sniff of mine when I got home tonight! :D....

And if someone were to read that and NOT know what we were discussing...get your minds outta the gutter!..LMAO

All I have to do is open the fermenting fridge... other day even my cats left the room from the fart smell. Phat Tyre was in high krausen and reeked! Now it is smelling like beer. Innkeeper Ale is just cruising to bottling Wed if the FG is good.

I have had 2 supermarket kits fermenting in my office for the last 3 weeks and there's been hardly any smell.

Then I put down my first all-grain on the weekend with 28g of Cascade at the end for the aroma and everything changed. I walk in this morning, don't have to go anywhere near the airlock to get hit with that hoppy blast. Been working in here all day and I'm adjusted to it now, actually kinda like it.
