Just opened a bottle of a Golden Promise/Northern Brewer smash I made a month and a half ago. FG is 1.013.
Is it just me or does the color not seem to fit the flavor of this malt? It's looks like it would be boring (like a light American lager), but it tastes super clean with a fantastic bit of sweetness and touch of fruit...I want to say ripe green fruit.
I should also mention that I had this bottle at room temperature and only poured into a chilled glass.
What else do you guys use this for? I know scottish ales, but the color here seems like it would be good with blonde ales or very light APAs.
