Updated tap list. Testing it on a Fire TV (outside pool patio) at the moment, but looking to do something peculiarly fantastic for the actual display over my indoor bar. More on that later.

13" OLED display is great. No backlight on an OLED = perfect blacks, minimal glow at night. Perfect for my bar. LOVE that I can just log in to Taplist, change the beers on tap, and it immediately changes on the display in the other room. Super-cool. There is a Fire Stick plugged into this display, hidden inside the wall behind it.

Simply plug in the fire stick, download/install the Taplist.IO app, connect to your account, and bob's yer uncle.

That's rad! Thanks for sharing, I'm glad you're enjoying things. Never thought about the OLED blacks making a difference but that makes a lot of sense in hindsight. Big fan of discrete/nicely-tucked-away builds like this, well done. (And that hops chandelier is *chefs kiss*).

Thanks. My original plan was to create a tight frame for the oled to hide its frame and the wires. Still might do that with my plunge router and some maple, but it doesn't look too bad as it is, might leave it that way for a while and see how I feel later.

Love this app, and love how easy it is to implement it through Fire TV. I did find a bug, will be describing on the Taplist site shortly.

I am going for minimal display - not a fan of the large LCD TVs for this purpose (BTW, discreet, not discrete. Yes, I am the grammar police, I'll just issue you a warning this time).

Awesome, that's music to my ears; optimizing for "easy" was the original motivation & still my number 1 priority.

dbl sided sticky tape. I just put one strip so I can undo it later without tearing the wall apart. Yes, a little ghetto, but almost ideal if you close your brain while doing it. The monitor is literally 1/4" thick. If it wasn't for those cables coming out the side, it'd leave it up like that. My plan, as I said, is to put it in a frame to hide the cables and the non-useful parts of the monitor.

In case anyone wonders, if power is lost, the Fire Stick reboots back into Taplist, and the display reboots to ON, so it all comes right back up. For this reason, I have considered putting a timer on the power so that it turns off midnight --> noon, hours that I am not using those taps.

BTW, I found the controls for this OLED monitor and turned the brightness all the way down. It's just perfect, day or night. I watch tv at night in that room and I didn't want bright display in there.

A magnet would hold it to the wall. I didn't think about that before - it just occurred to me.

This monitor out of the box has no mounting feature on it at all - nothing obvious, anyway. It is VERY similar, in that way, to an iPad. But, on the back there is a faint circle in the middle. There must be a metal plate in that circle, because the stand that does come with this monitor magnetically connects to that circle.

I used taplist at home before I opened my brewery 16 months ago. I love it and am still using it, albeit the pro version. Very easy to change on a daily basis. Here is what mine looks like now.

I have a few questions. Can an apple iPad be used for the display for taplist IO? I see that there is a homebrewer price point for taplist, is there a limit to how many taps can be displayed? Can one have a image associated with each tap, or is it simply a written list?

I'd love to get into a digital tap list, but I'm afraid that raspberry pints is way over my head. This seems like it would be a perfect solution, but again...questions. Thanks in advance.

Raspberry pints not that complex if you just want a display. It's some simple commands.

Hi @DuncB thanks for the reply. Honestly I have been trying to get a handle on raspberry pints but damn, with over 8199 posts on that forum entry it's complete daunting to consider. I have very little experience with any kind of computer stuff, and I was going to say programming but that would be zero experience. I have built (successfully) a raspberry pi for use with my Tilt, but that was fairly straight forward with videos to coach me through. But finally, all the Raspberry Pints results I've seen don't really incorporate graphics beyond the image of a glass and a particular color for the beverage along with some data.

Honestly having flow meters isn't very meaningful to me, I generally know when my kegs are getting low and I will say that my work flow has kegs being pulled for festival pours with my brew club throughout the year. Point is it seems raspberry pints seems best suited for situations where a keg is filled then remains in place until it's gone.

What I'd like to create for my application is a digital display that simply shows beer names, with some data (abv, style, etc) and incorporating a fairly detailed graphic design that we in my club almost always create for any beers we brew. These graphics are always in the 5x7 format as when we pour at festivals we will line up 5x7 images of the brews on our jockey box surrounds; it makes for an elegant way to show off the beers we have on tap.

I still haven't heard back from Mikey at Taplist IO, I was hoping he could answer so question about this product. I will say, if I knew how to manage illustrator I would make my own display page and just post that on my iPad next to my kegerator, but alas I've very limited in my computer skills.

A "Picture" would be associated with a Beverage. A Beverage is, in turn, associated with a Tap. Again, you should be able to verify this as part of the free trial.

You can either use a picture, or a glass (choose the shape) that is colored according to the SRM you've defined for that beer. Below is my tap list right now. I have the cheapest homebrewer version of the app.

It doesn't look like it supports IOS... I just searched the App Store and Taplist was not there. However, all you need is ANY monitor with an HDMI input (all of them) and plug a cheap FireStick into it. fire it up, use the firestick remote to download the taplist.io app, and connect it to your account. To make changes to your menu, log into your account at taplist.io, create a beer, add it to the kegroom, move it from the kegroom to a tap. You'll see, not hard once you've done it once.

I’m running Taplist.io natively on a $69.99 Insignia 24” 1080p Fire TV.

I went nuts and run it on the cheapest Fire Stick plugged into the cheapest 32" TCl TV Walmart had in stock mounted vertically, with the cheapest mount Harbor Freight had. Since I run Home Assistant, I turn it on and off with an IR repeater and the Homekit integration. I pay the $40 a year for the homebrewers subscription, forget what that that gets me but its fun and people think its cool when they come over.
