I've seen a couple of vids on youtube where the person brewing and using a immersion or simple coppertube wort chiller say that the lowest they can can their wort is in the high 80's because of their tap water temp. Now I just finished cooling my wort to 110 degrees in less than 10 minutes. Of course it was a partial boil of about 2 1/2 gallons. So I checked my tap water temp and it is a steady 55 degrees (no wonder it took so long for my water bed to heat up !!) Is this better than average for a low temp. I have a well (that is over 300 ft deep....trust me...I've pulled the pump at least once and it's over 300 feet.) So....what's your tap water temp?
